We have only been back a week and I have been to the travel agent today to book next may but the only trouble is do not know which hotel to pick. As the travel agent have matched virgins price and beaten it by giving us an extra discount I do not need to pay nothing until Augustas well. However only thing is as they have given me so good price we can not make mind up between Pop Century or Port Orleans or Caribbean or Coronado.
Please help make my mind up????????????

Pop century is a value resort and has less facilities(e.g only a food court and no restaurant than the others which are moderate resorts). Rooms are also larger at the moderates (314 sq feet v 260 sq feet).
I would look at Disneys website so you can see the differances between the resorts.
All are differant and have their plus and minus points.
We stayed at the caribbean beach as we wanted a centrally located resort with a decent size room and facilities. The resort is more centrally located than the other resorts you mentioned. We went for water view room and requested a bay view room and obtained a room over looking the lake and only 5 mins walk from the main complex last year.
In the end it is down to yourself want you want in a resort but look at Dibbers reports on the resort and look at a good guide book such as Unofficial guide to Disney which has warts and all for all the Disney Hotels.
Just MHO of course, but Pop Century is a budget and all the others are moderates, so if the prices are similar, I would sling that out for a start. We have only stayed at Coronado out of those three and it was very nice.

I would not choose Pop over a moderate if the price is the same.
A moderate resort will give you more for your money, bigger room, complimentary fridge (a fridge will cost you $10 a night at Pop), nicer pool with slide, hot tub. We stayed at POFQ last summer and it was lovely. It does not have a table service restaurant but you can easily walk or take the boat to POR which has.
This site (http://allearsnet.com/acc/faq_hot.htm) has info and photos of all the WDW resorts.

Hiya
the same thing has happned to us today....prices were just too good, we ended up deciding on The Caribbean Beach resort....with virgin and upgrading to PE.....also the waterview room....we are happy bunnies.....
just think...you can have another countdown !!! :)
The prices I have seen on the Virgin website for the Disney resort hotels seem very expensive to me. Do people pay these prices or do they get a further reduction.
Is it me being scrooge or are the 4 star hotels eleswhere better value.
Also I have heard that the price doesnt include admission to the parks, is this right.
You can get at least 5% off the website prices when booking with virgin and up to 12% off when booking via TA/credit card travel clubs if you shop around.
We have done a DIY holiday for last year and this year and have undercut all the tour operators that operate from ireland as well as the uk operators.
The key to this is shop around as you are the customer and companies want your business so use this fact to get the best deal.

Which travel agent did you use?
We had only been back in the UK for 3 days and booked the next holiday, for December. We usually book our flights and then book the rest shortly before departure. This time we have done what you did and booked a package (still very nervous of this as we had bad experience in the past - but the price was right this time)
We are staying at Caribbean Beach, never stayed at the others, but as the others have said Pop Century is a value resort - go on, go for the moderate you know you are worth it!

We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside last year and liked it so much we've booked again for this year. It's a beautiful place and the free boat rides to Downtown Disney are so relaxing. Rooms are better equipped than the budget hotels too - fridge, coffee/tea maker, hairdryer etc.
I love POFQ and also Coronado - I personally like the compactness of POFQ and the boatride to DTD best, but Coronado, being a much larger resort, had more facilities and also fantastic transport to all the parks, it had the best transport (buses) I have ever experienced at any of the hotels I've stayed at, very prompt and very quick.

Pop Century is very nice but it's the value resort so if they're the same price, I'd go for one of the others. Carribbean Beach looks very nice and POrt Orleans is supposed to be lovely too. You lucky thing booking again so soon, we've got to wait until May 2008!
So you had a wonderful time then?
