I visited DLP on Saturday, I have done WDW and have visited DLP before a few years ago. My biggest gripe about it was the amount of people who were smoking!! The whole Park stunk of cigerette smoke, no special areas as in Florida. Oh and the Queue jumpers!! - well we all know about them! The fast passes for the rides we wanted were out of action, they are just so disorganised. We had to queue for an hour to get tickets to see the Lion King later in the day (not issued at the time of the show) only to have 'rugby style scrum' when it was time to go in, We tried very hard not to compare with WDW but found ourselves often saying "well in Florida"............

i know what you mean about the queue jumpers, along with the bunfight for photos with characters - it is a bit of a nightmare.
I've got to say though that i am really sensitive about smoking - i can smell it a mile off and it drives me nuts, but I don't remember ever being particularly bothered by it at DLP.

Couldn't agree more. Went to DLP a couple of times a few years back and would never go back. Constantly had adults pushing young kids out the way in the queues. Also agree about the smokers.

Its a bit like WDW with the 'Disney' removed!!!!

Yes you can smoke anywhere in DLP no designated areas like florida ( me and DH smoke but we would find a quiet corner as i dont like walking around in crowds with cigarettes as somebody could get burned) also the adults pushing the kids out of the way for photos with characters was ridiculous (DH nearly came to blows a couple of times usually with french people, in the end we taught the kids to double team one to push adults the other to run in with the book as we were sick of seeing them waiting nicely for ages only to get shoved) but my 2 little cousins still loved the place it was there first disney experience and i would love to take them to florida in the future.
Although we wont be returning to DLP.

Hi,

I found the same in DLP with kids being pushed out of the way, it really annoyed me as my son was only 3 1/2 at the time and I was heavily pregnant with our DD. DH was in charge of the camera and my poor DS did not stand a chance! Gave up in the end rather than risk a limb ;) We did a character meal (I think it was breakfast) and that was much better for the character interaction.

Just realised that my DS is now 14 - was it really 10 years ago? :erm:

Getting old.......
