View Full Version : How much spend for Las Vegas
I was wondering how much spend people get through in Las Vegas, and how much should we take in a couple of weeks time.
Im not a big gambler so dont expect to spend a fortune in Casinos, in fact the thought of spending $100 in half an hour at Poker horrifies me.
We are only there for a week, accomadation is paid for but we want to cram in as much as poss, including a nice meal at the top of the world restaurant in the stratosphere.
So how many $$$$ will I spend:grin:
Just got home on Sunday morning from fabulous Las Vegas and cannot wait to go back again. It really is Disney for adults!
We did mainly slots and a very little bit of roulette but for two 'non-gamblers' I was suprised how many $ we got through. We averaged around $250 per day just on gambling for two of us (not each). Admittedly part of that amount was the winnings that we fed straight back in to the machines. So on current exchange rate I'd set aside £800 for a week and hope that you win at least a little bit.
We found that by visiting the buffets around 2pm we were only eating one (huge!) meal a day. Best buffets we visited were Bellagio, Aladdin, Paris and Luxor (ranked in that order). Most we paid for a buffet was $50 for two of us and least was $30. For drinks we simply tipped the cocktail waitress $1 each per drink (free drinks while you're gambling, even the penny slots!). So an average food bill for the day was around £45 for two of us (isn't America great value!). We did splash out on a posh meal for $180 one night and it was gorgeous.
Biggest other expense was a helicopter trip landing in the Grand Canyon for lunch. At around $550 it was not cheap but it was absolutely awesome and an unforgettable experience.
I'd also recommend this Big Shot at the top of the Stratosphere, Fremont Street, use the Deuce bus (buy $5 24 hour passes), always tip your cocktail waitress and be sure to visit every last casino on the strip and join their Players Club for rewards.
Viva Las Vegas!

Just got my bank staement back! [for 2 people-7 nights] I took $1800 dollars with me in cash (£1000) and spent £1400 on my debit card. This included 5 nights in various hotels. (I paid for 2 nights in the MGM before I went), we did do quite a lot though.
