Have any of you guys been on the clearwater beach excursions offered by numerous travel companies? The excursions arrive at the Hilton Clearwater beach from numerous orlando hotels and include a boat tour where there is the opportunity to view dolphins in the Gulf or go on a ecotour. We might take advantage if this as the last time we drove down to Clearwater we got hopelessly lost! Seems an interesting opportunity and I was wondering how you guys would rate it.

Hi all! We done a brilliant trip about 4 weeks ago to Clearwater. We booked it through Attraction tickets direct. We were given a voucher and told to ring the number on the voucher, when we got on our hols, to confirm what day we wanted to go and the closest hotel to where you're staying to get picked up from. The trip runs on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday and the company who run it are Gator Tours who do have their own website. We arrived at about 10.45am and settled on the beach for a couple of hours before collecting our packed lunch and tickets for the pre-booked Seascreamer Trip from the coach driver at midday. The Seascreamer trip was booked for 2.00pm and it was absolutely brilliant!! The boat is a large speedboat and when the boat picks up speed the dolphins jump up alongside and behind the boat. I would definitely recommend it. We had booked it for my daughters 21st birthday treat and she said that it was an experience that she would never forget. x
Hi, so how long did you get to chill on the beach? I have been looking at doing this trip to Clearwater and the SeaScreamer. Does anyone know where you get picked up from if staying onsite at WDW?

Hi, the Seascreamer Trip lasted about an hour so we were back on the beach for about 2 more hours and the coach picked us up at 5.30pm x

we did this trip with virgin back in 2006 we were picked up at our hotel all star movies and then when we arrived in clearwater we had about an hour before a buffet lunch at the hilton then we went on the seascreamer which we all really enjoyed then we had a couple of hours before the bus took us back to the hotel nikki bird were a mini bus was waiting to take us back to our hotel.
I'm sold!!:tounge: Would you book in Orlando or before you travel? It would be nice to be able to pick a nice day weather forecast wise and then book at short notice. Who would you book with ATD, Gator or Virgin?

We did the Clearwater trip with Gator Tours via Attraction Tickets Direct a few weeks ago (26th May). We had a great day and it was extremley hot. My only criticism was that there's not much to do there. Having said that, if you're going just for the beach and sea then you'll have a great time. The coach tours do take a long time if your one of the first pick ups though. We were on the 'shuttle bus' for an hour before we reached the main coach although we'd only travelled about 8 miles! We then had an hour and a half drive to Clearwater. Other than that it was great and the drivers were exceptionally friendly.

Sorry, forgot to mention before.... We did the Dolphin Encounter boat trip and saw loads of dolpins. I was only expecting to see one or two but we were really lucky. They are really close to the shore which suprised me too.
