What there are parks?!

Big favourite resort of mine and it's quieter than the Dolphin. This stay I was staying in a room on a high floor that had a dual aspect so overlooked the Boardwalk as well as Hollywood Studios.
Room was big with 2 Queen Beds with wonderful bed linen - very soft and had duvets and pillows of all varieties.
Room Service was great but best not to fall asleep just after ordering LOL
Bathroom is a good size and has a sink and toilet and bath with another sink just outside of the bathroom so handy if 2 or more of you are trying to get ready at the same time.
Enjoyed the bars at Kimonos and Il Mulino and ate at both, very scrummy. For breakfast I would use the little Java Bar and they serve Starbucks coffee with pastries, muffins, cereals and fruit or we walked over to The Dolphin and ate at Picabu Buffeteria.
Swam at both pools the main Grotto Pool and then at the "quiet pool" at The Swan. Visited the spa which was good but very pricey!
Will stay again for sure! |

This resort is the first that my have family stayed at in Walt Disney World, and boy it has left an impression. It really was a perfect hub for us to travel to all the different parks and amenities. The close proximity of WDW Studios and EPCOT was perfect for us as we enjoy a good walk and a run if we are feeling that little bit fitter, and the pathways linking the Swan and Dolphin to the two parks was regularly treaded by us throughout the fortnight we were away. The boardwalk just to the right of the hotel was also a big plus for us all as I love good a well themed area, and the boardwalk with its Atlantic coast turn of the century architecture and themed restaurants, shops and entertainment is just my cup of tea, very reminiscent of Walt's Main Street that we all know and love. The onsite dining in the hotel were pretty good in my opinion with breakfast in the restaurant 'with the tree', (pardon for forgetting its actual name but it was its defining feature), which was very good value if you wanted a good feeding, with an all you can eat for $20 each plus tip the order of the day for all my family, which set us all up for the busy days ahead. However it should be also noted that unless you were prepared for a real filling, other dining options would probably be better value. Evening dining was also good, although definitely on the more pricier side of things in comparison to some of the in park restaurants, but the restaurants on site definitely provided us with a far greater menue, and the quality of the food was always matched by excellent very much Disney calibre service you expect. Good choice of dining, with Italian and Asian cuisine in the Swan and other dining options available in the Dolphin just across the bridge, which also included a very reasonable Ice Cream bar which we frequented most nights as a treat. As for the rooms we were lucky enough to get the exact room as was advertised in the Thomson brochure for that year which was quite funny, so we could really claim we got what was advertised, with a lovely view of Dolphin and the dock for the inter resort and park boat. The beds were comfy and the room was very clean and well maintained with no ageing fittings ie very new sheets, pillow cases, curtains etc. The TV was of a high quality, with a great range of channels, perfect for watching cringe worthy US day time TV shows such as The Price is Right and Sports such as NFL and baseball in the evenings on ESPN on FOX Sports! All in all, I was extremely impressed by this hotel, which geared us up for most certainly the best holiday I or my family has ever had, and would go back in a heart beat... Only real thing of note that may be a negative to some wanting to go to a on property Disney hotel is that this accommodation in particular is probably not geared towards being as child friendly as some others, probably due to the very high footfall of business people in the hotel, and the business and exhibition wing that dominated one side of the hotel. That aside very highly recommended. Would and will stay again... |

lovely hotel, rooms were spacious and beds very comfortable, overall the rooms were similar to other cheaper hotels we've stayed at...the absolute best thing about this hotel is the location close to EPCOT and HS - a lovely stroll to both parks made it perfect and the added bonus of being next to the Boardwalk for evening entertainment - wouldn't hesitate to return. |

We (myself, wife and 9yo daughter) stayed at the Swan for 18 nights from the 10th August until 28th.
We had a fabulous time. We had a standard room with 2 queen beds, on the 9th floor. We could see the Tower of Terror in Hollywood Studios and the EPCOT fireworks from our window.
The bathroom was clean and adequately sized with a further wash hand basin outside. beside the closet. This I suppose is a minor quibble, the lack of space for clothes. However, we managed okay without any major problems. There is a safe, iron, ironing board and coffee machine located here.
The main room had 2 queen size beds, a side board housing drawers and a mini fridge (not a mini bar), an armchair, table, and a side table between the beds. A flat screen TV also offering pay movies and internet access. There is however, wifi available in the room.
I understand that there is a daily resort charge which covers self parking, 2 bottles of water per day, daily paper and the internet access fee, however this was included in our package booked through Virgin Holidays.
The rooms were clean and well decorated. Housekeeping were fine, dealing with our requests (extra coffee cups etc) courteously and quickly.
Checkin was a breeze and all our dealings with any member of staff, whether front desk, concierge etc was dealt with very politely. No complaints whatsoever.
There is a Disney store located on site which was fine and several restaurants. Apparently, there are no restaurants open for lunch (you need to walk over to the Dolphin for that), but we never tested that as we were out all the time!
The Garden Grove Restaurant offers character breakfasts and dinner and we done these on several occasions. Chip n; Dale, Pluto, Goofy, Timon and Rafiki are the ones on offer.
The Dolphin and Swan are one resort and you can use the facilities in either and charge direct to you room. Picabu is a 24 hr cafe/convenience store located in the Dolphin which we used on numerous occasions.
The pools were great. Fantasia Gardens golf is a 5 minute walk away.
This was our first time at a Disney resort and what we loved most of all was the transporation. Boats to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, buses every where else. To be honest, this is so close to Epcot, you can walk in 10 minutes. A bit longer to get to the Studios. We went to Epcot 8 times during our stay, just because it was so easy to get to!
There is a Mears shuttle desk in the Dolphin who can arrange any non-Disney trips. We never had a car, so arranged trips to Universal, IOA, Seaworld and Aquatic. They charge $16.00 per person and have very regular pickups. Thumbs up to Mears as I lost my mobile on a bus and 5 days later they found it and delivered it to the room!
Disneys Boardwalk is just a 5 minute away, plenty of restaurants, reservations recomended.
All in all, we had a fabulous time and love to go back. |

We stayed at the Swan for the first 4 days of our honeymoon in June 2008.
The room was absolutely fine, clean and spacious with a small balcony area. the bathroom was modern and well equipped and the shower was quite decent, although it didn't have the great power pressure that I love and have at home. That is a minor quibble though.
One problem we did encounter is that the housekeeping is done very late on some of the floors. We tend to go out early and try and beat the queues. We then return about 4 - 5ish for a little rest and relaxation before heading out again for the evening. On returning at this time, our room had never been tidied. Often the maids would be around at that time, but it did kind of make our plans a little awkward.
The staff were excellent - they delivered a electric power adaptor to us free of charge when they discovered that our own personal one was broken. We just rung the front desk to see whether they sold adaptors anywhere, so to have one delivered was a nice surprise.
As we were on honeymoon we also had a small bottle of champagne in our room on arrival which was a nice touch.
The facilities are very good, and we enjoyed the burgers at the diner. The surroundings were very pleasant - it was beautiful walking around the boardwalk on a sunny evening. Getting to the parks was easy too, although the Swan was one of the last stops on the Disney buses so they were often very full and cramped by the time they got to our hotel.
Overall, it was a good stay but we have since decided not to stay in hotels in Florida anymore and stick to villas as we much prefer having our own space and private pool. |

Me and my little sister stayed here for 3 days in October 2007. The room was nice, clean and spacious and over looked the Hollywood Studios park. Could see EPCOT's Illuminations from the room. The hotel is also a short walk away from both parks. The beds are large and quite comfortable.
The restaurants were nice, and when we were eating there one day, someone proposed to his girlfriend, which was a nice surprise.
Overall the staff were helpful, mousekeeping was good, the rooms were clean, the hotel was a short walk away from EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.
I give this hotel a personal rating of 7/10. The hotel was not that bad. |

We had rooms on the Club floor that overlooked MGM and you could see the Epcot fireworks. The Club is excellant providing food in the morning and evening which probably saved quite a bit because of the fairly high hotel restaurant prices. The location is also excellant as it is a short walk to both Epcot and MGM, and has good bus links to the other Disney parks. The rooms are plesant but probably overpiced unless you can get one of the many discounts. I used the entertainment card to get a good discount. The beds are fabulous, comfortable and large. Restaurants and bars are better in the Dolphin, which is just accross the courtyard. Swimming pools are great. |
