My son's passport runs out in a few months and he turns 18 beforehand. Will his new passport be an Adult First (includes passport interview) even though he already has a childs passport, or an Adult Renewal or Amend or an Adult Replacement?

Also, my daughter's passport runs out at the same time and she will just have turned 17. Does she have to have a new passport when hers expires and change again to an adult passport when she is 18, or keep the child passport until she is 22?
