If you keep on believing, Oct 2015... THE TRIP REPORT.

Hey everyone,
Well home and almost recovered from a mostly great week in WDW.

To summarise the trip...1 week is not enough, however I wouldn't turn it down. We still did a lot, and apart from world showcase I did everything I wanted to.
I spent a couple of afternoons solo (call it self healing / finding myself) it helped.
The weather was mostly great, a cloudy/drizzly day, and a storm one morning, but other than that it was hot and mostly sunny.
We all agreed that if it can be avoided we wouldn't fly BA again. The plane was fine as was the entertainment system, but the food was diabolical and the staff were not the great. A noticeable difference to Virgin.
The hotel was gorgeous. Couldn't fault it apart from the bridge to Centre town was closed so getting around the resort took a little longer than normal using the boat across the lake or the internal bus. Would I stay there again?...yes. However I think Coronado Springs would be my first choice.
Lots of building work going on in most of the parks, so I'm hoping my next visit will be when its all complete. I'd love to get back end of 2017, but realistically I think I'm looking 2018. Gonna be a grown up for a bit and buy a house! Eeeek!

Links to my live photo reports below.

Hopefully memory maker pics wont follow too far behind.

Brill trippie Stacey and thanks for sharing.
I think you did amazingly well given the circumstances! Maybe it was the therapy you needed to gain closure and move on?!
Love your mickey leggings on day 6 (I think?!) xxx

Thanks Nat. I had a couple of "blips" and there were a few tears on seperate occasions but I think it definitely did help in some way...made me realise I don't need anyone else to enjoy myself. Don't get me wrong Id still love to share the fun with someone else one day. I'm just so relieved I still love Disney. I Was terrified it'd been ruined for me. But it's still and always will be my happy place.
Haha the leggings were given to me from a lady at work. Her husband wouldn't let her wear them!

I hope returning to the land of the mouse with your parents reassured you that wonderful new memories can be made there. May this help in your road to recovery, onwards and upwards with so much happiness around the corner for you

Thanks for sharing. I just want you to know that I split from my ex 2 years ago and thought that my world had ended. I put all my energy into buying my own place but knew that meant no more fantastic holidays for a while... then fate proved me wrong. I went to NYC last year with my mum, going back in 2 days time with my new (wonderful) bf and we have booked to go to Florida next year. as hard as times get just now, please remember, it will get better. I am living proof.

Good luck for the future xx

Thanks Lisa. I'm definitely feeling much better than I was. Fingers crossed this is the start of a new chapter now. Still have all those other memories, but like you say, I now know I can make new happy memories. Need to let the past go. X

Thank you. That's really good to hear. I too, thought my world ended, and am also trying to put all my focus into a house. Who knows what's around the corner. I've just got to try and adopt a new positive attitude and try to keep it! All the best for you too. X

Wow great holiday, glad you basically had a good time and found time for healing
If you head out in 2018, we may again bump into each other at airport (though I hope we both make it this time!) as our next holiday (Caj and Chris George and three boys) will be in 2018 for my 50th.
We find it our happy place too, and somewhere where my autistic son smiles and laughs a lot.

Ahh would be fab to bump into you at the airport again...or even better, over there!
I really want to go Oct/Nov 2017 - its my fave time of year to be there, but will have to see how saving goes once I have a house.
2018 is probably more realistic!

I am glad that despite everything that's happened this year I was able to have a good time there. I was so worried it would be ruined. Don't get me wrong I had my moments, but I think I'll defo be ok returning again solo now.
Life goes on doesn't it, and the only person I'm upsetting by being miserable is myself! Onwards and upwards.
