2 Fatties in a Fiat 500 - North Coast 500 - Day 1

We awake on holiday with no jetlag, and at a decent time which is good for me! Breakfast at the hotel was ok, and cooked to order from a menu, along with a selection of pre packaged goods.

We had covered most of Inverness the day prior so today took a walk along the river and to Ness Islands. Ness Islands was really pretty and great to explore, we met this chap...

Had it not been cold and grey it would have been a lovely place to stop and relax.

It started to rain so after a couple of hours and a walk around the castle we headed back to the hotel to dry off.

After drying off we headed back out for some lunch and settled on a good old fashioned Costa. We did a few more laps of Inverness shopping centre and the surrounding streets, but there is only so many betting shops and coffee shops you can look at so back to the hotel and chilled watching tv.

Dinner tonight was at Pizza express, they had an offer on for a free soft drink if dinning in, or 30% off the bill if taking out, so we of course did take out and a little room picnic.

The street life outside was a different story tonight and didn't hear a peep out of it all day. Suitably stuffed we headed to bed and slept ready for our adventure on the open road to begin tomorrow.
