It started out as a weekend in Spain! - Day 5

Day 5 – Monday 1st June

Today was DHS day with the aim being to ride Midway Mania as we never got that far on our previous trip as we always seemed to miss the FP distribution! Arrived at 8.15am and secured fast passes returning between 11am and 12 noon. Next stop was a pastry breakfast at Starring Rolls which was ok – nothing spectacular - it was busy but at least we managed to get a seat in the courtyard. Suitably fuelled we headed off to the Great Movie Ride – think that will be the last time we ride that for a while . Next was the Little Mermaid show which is very cute and is guaranteed to have me singing along! Backlot Tour was next up and it always seems different to us ever since we were picked as deck hands a couple of years ago in the first scene which strangely never led to a part on NCIS! I think the bus tour part of this attraction is getting a bit tired now as some of the movie equipment/pieces on the tour have definitely seen better days.

It was now time for our Midway Mania FP. I had heard lots of good things about it and the only disappointment was that you do miss a lot of the queue theming in the FP queue.

I am not a shoot ‘em game type of girl but after my Buzz Lightyear victory earlier in the week I was feeling confident . Wow what a great ride – it was so much fun even though you do get trigger finger by the end! As you can see in the photo below (I am player 2) I got beat (whooped according to DH!) but thoroughly enjoyed the ride experience and am looking forward to riding it again on our next trip.

Another first followed – lunch at Sci-Fi Dine in. We had a fairly long wait when we checked in and the waiting area got very congested. We both had burgers and they were ok – nothing outstanding but I think you go there more for the experience than anything else. Although it is a pretty cool place, it is not somewhere I would go back to particularly as there are other places I would rather try or re-visit again.

After lunch we decided to head out of the park and do more shopping
- I had a feeling the shops must be missing us by now! We headed off to Prime Outlets which we haven’t visited since the extensions have been finished and it is a lovely shopping complex. My main aim while we were here was to treat myself to a Coach Handbag but after visiting the shop I just could not justifying spending that much money on a handbag so settled for a bargain Guess one instead ($60) which I’ll be taking back in October as it is falling to bits after a couple of weeks use! We finished off with a trip to my favourite refreshment place ever – Starbucks – and headed back to Pop arriving back around 6.15pm. I went for a refreshing dip in the pool and DH stayed in the room (apparently it was too chuffin’ hot!)

Another first today was a trip to Bahama Breeze at LBV which we thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely be added onto our list of ‘preferred’ places to eat. DH had Kabob and I had Jerk Chicken Pasta and both were good.

No more notes for this day but I presume it would have been back to Pop, refill the mugs and bed. Not that we were in a boring routine or anything!
