Gulf Coast Busch & Universal Day 7 3/7/10 - Luke's B'Day

The Cast

Me – Lynn 40+ (Obsessed by holidays, loves Florida, Bossy and a Holiday Planner)
DH – Philip 40+ (Thankfully Loves Florida and happy to go with the flow)
DS – Luke 12 (Loves Florida and organising things)
DD – Rachel 10 (almost 11 - swings from being a tweenage drama queen to horizontally laid back!)

Day 6

Today is Luke's 12th birthday. Philip and I bought him a DSI XL and Rachel gave him a remote control boat which he can play with in the pool. He also got dollars from grandparents and his aunts and uncle.

Unfortunately it's raining we decide against going to the beach and opt for a pool/house day. Luke asks for subway for lunch (what a surprise ) and Applebees for dinner. So our plans are sorted.

Luke, Rachel and I sit in the hot-tub for a while. We paid for pool heat and it's worth it for the fact that the hot tub heats like a bath. So far we've not noticed any difference in the pool from what we have experienced in other years. But there's time...

After he gets out the hot-tub, Luke opens the aftershave set he had bought yesterday to discover that the aftershave has leaked. Looks like a trip back to the outlets so he can return it. It's decided that the boys will go. As they are getting ready, Rachel decides she'll join them. My DD can never resist a shopping trip

Off they go and I have peace for a while. I lay by the pool and read a book. The rain has stopped but it's still very grey.

An hour or so later the guys come back. Rachel and Philip have bought converse flip flops and Luke and Philip have bought some Nike t-shirts. After they have showed me their goodies, the boys to head straight back out to Subway. It's time for Luke to eat his next foot long sub.



It's now time for Applebees.



We get there around 6pm. Once again the service is outstanding. I've driven this time to give Philip a chance to enjoy the two for one cocktails. He takes full advantage and ends up having 6 margaritas in total. Thankfully they aren't that alcoholic but he assures me they are very, very tasty

We share chips and dips as a starter



Luke has a plain burger and fries



Rachel has chicken tenders and fries



Philip has Fiesta Chicken



And I have sizzlin' cheese steak



For desert Luke has triple chocolate meltdown



and Rachel has the hot fudge sundae shot



The total cost, including gratuity was $120.

We leave Applebees around 7.30pm and Luke decides he wants to watch a DVD so we stop by Red Box.




This s a great system. $1 per night per dvd. He chooses “Free Willie, Escape From Pirates Cove”.

Back at the villa, we have a photo session around the pool before we head in to
watch the movie...








The film isn't as bad as I expected and all four of us get quite hooked. After it ends, kids head to bed and Philip and I read for a while before turning in around 10.30 pm


Tomorrow we head for Orlando to stay at Marie and Robert's villa.
