Day 26 22nd July – Welcome Home.

Our overnight flight was a bit of a nightmare as our little devil refused to sleep and was awake for around 8hrs of an 8hr 5min flight!

Though she was quiet it was a challenge to keep her entertained so she wouldn’t kick off as she does fly off the scale when she is tired.

Anyway the flight was OK though flying back economy after flying out UC was a shock to the system to say the least

On getting off Ruby Tuesday Kiera decides it’s time to be sick again and only fast actions by DW and a member of cabin crew that prevented a major blow out of Gulf of Mexico proportions over the cabin.

Since the flight left on time it arrived on time and Gatwick was a welcome sight but that soon turned as we had to check in for Flybe flight to Aberdeen.

The Fly be desks were a bit of a free for all and chaotic to say the least but we eventually get through and down to gate 7 for our 9.2am flight which then turned into a 12pm flight as some idiot crashed the air bridge into our plane damaging it so we had to wait until a replacement aircraft was flown down from Birmingham.

We were not looking forward to the flight as Skye was in full flow now and misbehaving more than ever. On getting on the flight Skye decided to sit next to me much to DW’s relief.

Luckily for me she finally caved in to the sleep monster prior to take off and had to be woken up in Aberdeen to get off the plane…Result.



We had pre ordered the grocery shop from Asda and they were scheduled to drop off our order between 3-5pm but since we were delayed 4 hrs we missed the van by an annoying 10mins.

Anyway the main thing was we were home the last 24hrs felt longer than the last 24 days but on retrospect it could have been worse


Well that's it for mean time , DW doesnt want to go back until Skye is at least 6 so that's 3yrs away but she has said that If I want to go back in the meantime with Kiera she is fine with that.

So a trip in Oct 2011 isnt out of the question

I've enjoyed reading all of your days so much and it certainly sounded like an amazing holiday. You fitted in so much! I have a fellow 3 year old companion for Skye and I've really enjoyed reading about her antics but I'm now dreading our flight on Monday! Hope you do return in 2011 so that we get to read another report.
