The Woods Wonderful WDW Hol Nov 2010 Day 8
The Woods Wonderful Walt Disney World Holiday November 2010
Day 8 Hi everyone, glad you are still with me, and todays plans were Blizzard Beach, and Narcoossees dinner. So, we start with me waking at silly o clock, really why am I am waking this early? Yes you guessed I switched the weather channel on as normal, hoping for a bit more heat today, we are in luck, today will get to the high 70s. I begin with getting everyone else’s things ready, as we have our regular breakfast at Olivia’s. We got out of the door at 7.40 and Beth was not in the mood for a morning walk and so strolled several feel behind the rest of us. She really didn’t want to play ball this morning, and was quite nasty all the way up. We were seated right away and today decided we would try something a little different off the menu… maybe we shouldn’t have…. Nick tried the Pork chop, yes it is breakfast, and I doubt he will be trying it again not for breakfast anyhow. I had the Banana French toast, which after one slice became too sweet to finish. The children had their regulars, and after everyone was fed and watered we paid our $13.37 (Would be $92.48) and went to the bus stop. We were a little early, and the Animal Kingdom bus driver said he would drop us off at BB even though it didn’t open for another hour…and guess what we were far too early, in fact we were the first there, no one about, and how daft did we look… We stood about and then a few more people started turning up. At 9.45 they opened the gates, and everyone started moving forward. Some stroppy man said .. WAIT THERE… so we just stopped, and he said it is only for the first family here…. Ermm we were them, ohh well didn’t know the first family got special treatment, but it pee’ed me off a little that did. So not a second before 10 we were let in and we made our way around to the towel and locker rental. Not many photos here, as the waterproof camera went missing. First of all we did the lasy river, and spent quite a while just going around and round. After this we moved in the Ski patrol camp and Nick went off to do some big slides with the older ones. Max and Charlotte enjoyed themselves, and did lots of activities. About 2 hours later, we decided to go down the slide with the dingy thing. I went first so I could catch Max. However I didn’t realise how shallow it was and scraped my knee up. Guess what Max did exactly the same and went into a complete meltdown. His was bleeding everywhere and a first aider was called. After he was cleaned up, he was crying to leave, I was fed up, so we decided it was for the best. Everyone was in a glum mood, and remember what I said yesterday that the buses had been kind… well not today; we waited over 40 minutes…arrrgh Once back, we told the children we would sit around the pool at Turtle pond for a few hours, which was lovely and relaxing. We also had some lunch there, which we thought was a little rubbish to say it was a deluxe credit we would be using. A basic hotdog no side, a pudding and drink. We moved around to the play area so they could play in the sand and climbing frames; however they were too hoy and Charlotte kept burning her bum on the slides. Max Brandan and I cooled off in the pool for a while, and then we went for a nap back in the villa, boy did we need it. Cont Below...

Cont from above... All clean and presentable, we got a bus to Magic Kingdom, and Wishes was just beginning, but hopped on the boat as one was in to take us over to the Grand Floridian. Whilst climbing aboard Charlotte almost lost her Hello Kitty ted, as she dropped it between the dock and boat, but thank fully it was recused. All aboard, we had a nice journey over, and went straight into Narcoossees. We were seated within 10 minutes and within another 30 minutes Max was asleep sat up at the table, and it was only just after 6 too. Our server introduced himself as Steve, and was great. We ordered starters just for Nick and I, as the children didn’t want any. For Nick it was this, some sort of cheese, and myself was crab cakes which were so full of flavour. (sorry about the dark photo) Entrees arrived a little while later and consisted of Grilled Filet Mignon - Potato Gratin, Romano beans with garlic and tomatoes, shallot red-wine butter for Nick and I, and Charlotte had Mac and cheese. Beth and Brandan had Filet with mash and veg. Everyone enjoyed and their mains and even Beth ate the majority of hers. Max’s was boxed up and he never did eat it. I love the fact that in the signatures you are not rushed at all through your courses, and can enjoy your meal at your pace, and this place was not exception, we could have sat here for hours, enjoying the ambience. That was until Brandan swung his arm across the table and knocked a full glass of iced water all over Max and I, I was soaked, and kept giving him the evil glances across the table… Nick thought it was funny, but was too scared to laugh… So desserts followed and I choose the delicious Almond-crusted Cheesecake - with lambert cherry sauce, OMG it was so good, you must try it if you haven’t already. I loved the way it was all separated on the plate. Nick had his favourite; yes you guessed it Creme Brulee Duo - Key Lime and Coconut custard finished with caramelized sugar, although it was a duo, and scraped the dishes clean….lol he thought it was the best one or two…lol all holiday. Beth had the children’s Nemo cupcake, which was far too big for a child, and had a blue mouth afterwards…lol Brandan and Charlotte both had a brownie sundae. After a little while we settled our bill, $68.50 (Would have been $330.47..Wow) and made our way towards the main lobby of the Grand Floridian. By now Max was awake, and as we were passing the photo pass people up stairs we stopped for a couple of family photographs. This is where the fun starts, we were going to get the monorail to MK, and then hop on a bus to OKW. However, it is MVMCP tonight and as we don’t have a ticket for the event, they wouldn’t let us off the stop at MK, and had to continue to TTC. It was now getting on, and we needed to get the other monorail to Epcot. Come one Disney, this isn’t fair, if I had known I would have got a taxi. So we then had to fight the crowds at Epcot as reflections had just finshed. We were so tired and felt a bit fed up, we just wanted to get back, and this end to our lovely evening really spoilt it. We eventually got in at 10pm and were all asleep by 10.25. Total spends today $103.87 Thanks for reading along xx

What lovely food; and some great pictures there Sarah. Looks like the weather picked up a bit for you.
It does look like you've had some great meals, but some of those tips equal about the amount we paid on entire meals! Not quite the free dining they advertise Although it does make me think about seeing if the free dining is on next time we go. |
