Disney & Beyond June 2011 Day 6 - DTD, Raglan Road & Rest

Me - Lynn 46 - holiday organiser. Looking forward to everything especially time together;
DH - Philip 48 - leaves it all to me. Looking forward to spending time at the Gulf coast;
DS - Luke 12 - loves everything about Florida. Looking forward most to Sea World;
DD - Rachel 11 - takes forever to get moving. Looking forward most to getting there and being warm.

Day 5

I should probably warn you now that this isn't a particularly exciting read... There are a few photos though

Today our plan had been to head to MGM or as it is now known Hollywood Studios. However when we woke it was raining, so Philip and I checked the weather forecast before waking the kids. It looked like there was to be more rain so we decided to move HS till tomorrow. I was able to re-schedule our lunch time ADR for Prime Time Diner on-line which I was really pleased about. I also managed to get a late lunch ADR for Raglan Road.

We let the kids have a bit of a lie in. Once they got up, we had breakfast in the villa and then drove to the Walmart on the US27. Luke needed trainers, Philip and I were just having a wander. It wasn’t a great trip to be honest. Luke got his trainers but Rachel decided to have a strop cos I told her not to buy trainers until we got to the outlets. Both kids ended up fighting and I was grumpy as a result…. As for Philip, he had had enough of all three of us L

Not the best start to the day. We decided to head back to the villa for a while. I have to say this is when the space in a villa is so useful. All of us were able to retreat to our individual spaces and have some alone time. It worked wonders. By the time we were ready to set off for Downtown Disney we were all in a much better frame of mind.

Rachel wanted to a buy a charm bracelet she had seen one of her school friends wearing so she and Philip went to the large Disney store. Luke and I wandered around taking photographs. I loved the new arrangements outside the Lego store. They are really impressive.










We met up with Philip and Rachel and took a slow walk back to Raglan Rd. Pausing again for photographs.










Raglan Road was really quiet which was surprising, but then again it’s probably one of those places that comes into its own in the evening. The last time we were here I had the most delicious bowl of beef stew. I raved about it for days much to the amusement of everyone who had to listen to me. So you’d think I would have ordered the stew wouldn’t you. BUT no I didn’t - I decided to order a lobster sandwich.



Philip ordered the special which was an egg and bacon sandwich;



Luke ordered stew



And Rachel had kids chicken nuggets (no pic as they are standard kids nuggets). We all had soft drinks. Philip enjoyed his sandwich and mine was ok but it was nothing compared to Luke’s stew which was delicious. If we come back here again, I’ll stick to the stew. The bill was $75 including tip.

After lunch we decided to head back to the villa, stopping briefly in Publix en-route. Once home we spent some time reading (Philip & I) and watching TV (kids). Later we all curled up on the sofas together to watch another few episodes of Medium.

Despite the rocky start it had been a nice relaxing day.

Tomorrow Hollywood Studios.

Lovely photos lynn, think when you were away for four weeks you really need a villa to have some of your own time , we are going back to raglan road next month. Might need to try that stew, , any advice on it, was it good etc lol :pop:
