Busy Day in Barcelona 9/8/13
We got up at 8am this morning as we have got a lot to pack in. We got dressed and went for breakfast the orange juice was freshly squeezed mmm
Suitably full we went back to our room to change our clothes as we are going to the Nou Camp we decided to wear our Swansea City shirts. We left the Hotel at 10am and headed for the subway, we had to catch 1 subway train to get there two stops. Once at the stadium I handed in the vouchers that I had pre booked on line, this worked really well with no hold up. We set off on this self walking tour it is amazing what you see on this tour from the away team changing rooms, to all the trophy's that Barcelona have won. We went into the press room and held the Champions League trophy. We did so much more that I can't really put it all in but safe to say it's a definite must see for all football fans. We spent around 3 hours touring the stadium you can go at your own pace and we did stop once for a drink and a rest there are places to eat and drink inside the stadium. After the tour we purchased 3 photos that we had taken it was buy 2 get the 3rd free they came to £26.85 and we could pay in sterling you also get access to digitally download the images aswell. We then went into the club shop and it was massive we had a look around Nigel got a Barcelona vest top 33.00Euros Rebecca got a pink baseball cap 14.90Euros and a pen 1.90Euros and a toy that was 15.10Euros we also got a magnet 2.90Euros for the fridge total spends 67.80Euros. We thought we'd have a snack before we left so we all had chips, Nigel and I had a Sangria and Rebecca had a coke I think we spend around 17.00Euros. We then got back on the subway and headed back to the Paral-lel station so we could get the funicular railway which would take us up to Castell Montjuic we got off the funicular and onto the cable car wow what amazing views from up there you could see all over the city. The fort is quite big, we had a walk all around the grounds and went onto the roof where you could see the port area and there was a couple of ships there although we couldn't see the Magic. We stopped for a drink and Rebecca had an ice cream before we headed back down to the Hotel, to all shower and change, before heading out for the evening. We decided to go to Las Ramblas so we got back on the subway and got of a liceu. Rebecca said she fancied a McDonalds for tea so we went there as it is very rare that we go to McDonalds we spent 17.75Euros there. Once we had eaten we walked the length of Las Ramblas almost down to the port and then back to Place Catalunya. I decided I wanted to go to see Sagrada Familia so we caught the subway there we had to change once and when we arrived Nigel said where is this place then, and I said well you have to turn around coz it's right behind you. What an amazing sight it is the building is enormous and so intricate it was closing when we got there so we only saw it from outside, but so glad I got to see it. We sat down by a little stall that was selling drinks right across the road from Sagrada Familia and Rebecca had a slush and a pot of strawberries and Nigel and I had an Estrella this came to 13.30Euros wow that beer was really cold and we really needed it to cool us down. Nigel wearing his new Barcelona vest. I had forgotten to mention we had been carrying around with us 12 cans of Estrella that we had got in a supermarket in Las Ramblas so we could take on the cruise with us and boy they were now getting really heavy. We finished our drinks and headed back on the subway and back to the Hotel it was almost 10 o'clock now and we felt perfectly safe travelling on the subway at this time of night, I would definitely recommend this way to travel around the city. We arrived back safe and sound and all went to bed completely exhausted after the busy day we had. Joining the Cruise

We did the barcelona stadium tour a few years ago. Even though I'm reaally not a football fan, I have to admit that most of it was pretty interesting & the stadium itself is rather impressive!
Looking forward to more |
