50 Shades of Grump: Day 14 - Blizzard Beach

Day 14 – 10th Sep – Fifty Shades of Grump – Blizzard Beach

Up early today (7am) to make the most of our last full day, and had the usual breakfast on the balcony complete with HP sauce!

We discussed what we all wanted to do for our last day and it was pretty much unanimous – Blizzard Beach! But a side trip was needed first for Alexandra.

Alison and Alexandra went out to Magic Kingdom to try and meet up with the elusive Pluto (Alexandra’s all time favourite character), so I’ll hand over to Alison now.

We got the bus as it was just coming in to the bus stop and got to MK really quickly. It was so quiet – hardly anyone was there!

We had to wait for about 15 minutes for Pluto to appear, but at least she got to see him!

Space Mountain was closed but we walked straight on to Buzz, Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean.

We left the park by 10 and were back at VWL by 10.15!

Back to Shaun now.

Well, that didn’t take too much out of the day so we all packed and drove to Blizzard Beach. We decided to go for another premium space again – luckily there was plenty left. They do get booked up (especially at busy times). There was a choice of two different areas in BB so we decided to go for a section that was not on the island. For info - there were 33 separate ‘plots’, but only about 5 were taken so we really could spread out.

We took the lazy river all round the park, then got the chair lift to the top and did Teamboat Springs and Runoff Rapids amongst other rides.

We had some lunch once it got to 1pm or so (a mixture of wraps, burgers and hot turkey sandwiches between us).We’d taken a cool bag with us with our own drinks in (which turned out to be a good idea) – saving lots of money!

It was a lovely relaxing day all round – a good decision for our last day with no grumps! (Alison: hooray!) We packed up at about 5 and headed back to VWL to shower and change.

Our last supper was to be at Carrabas as we’d had a couple of really good meals there in the past and tonight didn’t disappoint either.

Starter to share:

Bacon and onion flatbread
Bread with dipping oil

Laura: Pizza
Alexandra: Trio (ravioli, sirloin marsala, fettucine alfredo)
Alison : Trio (ravioli, Chicken Bryan, fettucine alfredo)
Me : Trio (sirloin marsala, plus four cheese something (can’t remember what!) and pasta amatriciana)

Between us we had 16 sodas, 2 beers and a glass of wine! (What a good job the sodas are a free refill – Alison was having a really thirsty day!)

Total $83 plus tip

Back to VWL to watch the Electric Water Pageant, and then had a ride round the monorail resorts getting off at each resort to take some photos. We played a really funny game of 'Where's Laura?' similar to 'Where's Wally?'

See if you can spot her in each picture - the photos might look the same but there is a slight difference!
