Air Boat Ride - Everglades City
Hi there,
We arrived at Fort Myers Beach yesterday for the last 4 nights of our holiday and I thought it would be nice to go on an airboat ride. Please can you recommend any reputable and good companies/families to book with? I've scrolled through the last 4 pages on here but they are all around the Orlando area. There are 4 adults and 2 kids. Thanks in anticipation. Loz

It's quite a drive to get an airboat ride. Everglades City isn't that exciting.
If you don't mind an electric boat ride you could go back to Myakka State park near Sarasota. There is a train/trolley ride and an aerial walkway. Altogether a beautiful park. floridastateparks/park/Myakka-River Given the weather though, it maybe better to contact any of the boating places you choose. They maybe affected by flooding. I've not been on an airboat ride near there for around 30 years so I can't be too much help.
Billie Swamp Safari is a good 90 min drive away and I rate them highly. They have a private park with airboats and swamp buggies. I think its worth the drive and have often driven 2.5 hours from Orlando with visiting friends because it's significantly better than the local offerings. |

Hi - we went last year with Captain Jacks from Everglades City and would highly recommend doing the mangrove tour - plenty of alligators and raccoons. Boats are all small (6 people) so you'd have one to yourselves.
