I am thinking of booking the ride-along at Daytona Beach for my husband and son. We visited NASCAR several years ago and enjoyed it. Has anyone done this and would you recommend it?

I booked the ride along for my son in 2012 when the speedway was still at Disney and he absolutely loved it. The driver asked him before they set off how fast he wanted to go

Think they like to get an idea if passengers are going to be adrenalin junkies or start crying once they hit a certain speed!

Thanks cats and trees. It looks great! Did you keep it a secret from your husband or did he know? I would like to book it for my husband and son but would find it very difficult not to tell them beforehand.

My son and husband like to think that they like to drive fast but might be a bit different in a racing car! Looks great though and would be a fantastic surprise if I managed to keep it a secret.

My husband and son have both done it but at Vegas speedway ..

I gave my husband his as a Christmas present so he knew 2 months in advance, My Son had been asking every year to do it when we went racing so as soon as he knew the junior car was in Vegas he asked to go..
Good job really because the night before I happened to look on the website and see they no longer did junior ride alongs in Vegas... Next morning we made a few frantic calls to the RPDE which he heard and thankfully the car was still in Vegas at the raceshop and they took it over to the track specially for him.

My son was 11 and is a complete NASCAR nut so he went as fast as the car and track allowed and loved every minute.
I'm sure he'll do it again at some point probably at a different track though.
