Cancelling Virgin Holidays Booking

Has anyone had any problems making a cancellation to a holiday booking with VH?

We have a Xmas 09 holiday booked but due to a college trip and work I'm going to have to cancel the booking. It's just one of those things and having just come back from 2.5 weeks I'm not saddened. Just wanted to know if anyone had any tips / bad experiences.

there really good about cancelling, they will let you move the deposit to another holiday or move your holiday to a later date if you want too. otherwise of course you can cancel completely.if you move the dates they charge £25 p.p but thats better than losing your deposit

this is what we done

had to cancel our booked 2006 holiday but it was virgin who suggest if we could travel in 2007 to change to this as we would have lost a deposit of £840 but to change they only charge me a one off £25 and not per person but that was due to a compremise with us other wise it would ahve been £175

We had real problems cancelling ours. Had to make numerous phone calls for them to even cancel. Then after it was finally cancelled we had to make even more phone calls to get the refund.

You can change the holiday to other dates at a small cost. If you cancel altogether, you won't get a refund of the deposit you have paid. You will have to forfeit that amount.

We had to cancel a holiday with VH but, because they had made lots of mistakes on a previous booking, they gave us a full refund.

My experience of Virgin, even though they sometimes make mistakes, is that when you speak to someone in UK you always get great service but if you speak to overseas call centre, it is far from great service.
