Virgin good deal?
We have had a quote from Virgin for 30/oct/2013 for 2 weeks staying at lake buena vista resort and spa, with virgin flights (no car) for 2 adults and 1 child £2940. is this a good price? i know most operators will have their brochures out on Thursday and even virgin themselves will have their full brochure out on Thursday (this is just using their previe brochure) but had a live price quote from their call centre. Should I book or will prices go down on Thurs with more competition about?

Hi there have you priced up a holiday with travel city direct who are owned by Virgin? We have just booked two weeks on 6th October 2013 flying direct from Glasgow to MCO with Virgin Atlantic, staying at The Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando for two adults and one child and it cost £2666 including transfers as we don't hire a car and Virgin were coming in around £300 dearer for the same holiday

Cant really advise on prices but I dont think you can really compare the 2 hotels in terms of pricing.
The Rosen Inn @ Pointe Orlando is nothing more than a bog standard hotel - I have stayed there and it is nice but nothing special. We had booked with Virgin to stay at LBVR&S - IMO a much nicer hotel but it was a lot more expensive - so we cancelled and re-booked and saved a fortune. Katie |

TCD seem to come in cheaper than Virgin (surprisingly as they're owned by Virgin, use same flights etc) but they don't always have the same accomodation for comparisons.
I spoke to a Virgin TA as we'd found a location we liked on TCD (Mystic Dunes Resort) but Virgin Holidays don't contract with that accomodation - all they could do was quote us for a similar 4* suite resort. As previously mentioned, TCD normally £200-£300 cheaper but if you have particular preference on a location they may not provide that. |

TBH I wasn't trying to compare the hotels I am well aware that the OP's hotel is much nicer, what I was trying to say was that TCD came in cheaper than VH for the exact same hotel and flights and that they should maybe try and price up a hotel of the same standard as LBVR&S with them and they could well save themselves a bit of money.
