I would not use any of these insurers. OK you saved a couple of hundred quid but if you had had an accident in the USA you could be in for very large claims for personal injury and all the ones I have looked at have had very low limits.
Do you really want to deal with a UKinsurer when you are in Florida.

When this happened we were back on the road within an hour in a new car.

I knew Greyfriars would pop on hence I asked the questions I did!
I too wouldn't even touch these companies, they are banking on 1000's of drivers having no issue but God help you if you are in a bump or worse case scenario injure or kill somebody.
Good to save a few quid we all like that but does anybody want the hassle or stress of dealing with an Insurance agent in another Country?

Not for me thanks but OP well done for posting and glad you had a nice holiday and no incidents.

No problem with car hire here in Turkey. I wouldn't drive here if they paid me! MAD absolutely MAD.
