Paris Day Trip Advice please?
Hello all,
Haven't been on this site for ages! Lovely to be back and excited to be going to Disney Paris next week! Have had no time at all really to plan the trip, but 6 of us going to celebrate both DD's special birthdays! We are going for 4 nights, and wanted to go into Paris for the day. I have been trying to look at transport etc and was hoping someone could offer advice. Thinking of getting train from Park to Paris and thinking of visiting Louvre, Monmartre and then go to Eiffel Tower in evening to see the tower lit up, then back to DLP late evening. Confused as to which is cheapest way of doing this for 6 people and how long it would take to get back from Tower leaving around 10-10.30 (really want to see the "sparkle"). Also, can anyone confirm if there are still fireworks next week please, I THINK Dreams is on all year round? Thanks in advance guys! Normally more organised than this! x |

It is really easy to get to Paris. You get s train straight from Marne-la-Vallee station. The machine has an English function so it or easy to get tickets.
I would only pick a couple of things to see, particularly if you want to do the tower (think seriously about booking this in advance as queues can be very long). Paris grew organically so it quite spread out. Attractions can be a long way from each other,

We got the train in to Paris from the parks. Once there we did the hop on hop off bus tour - gives you the opportunity to see all the sights with transport included. I'm pretty sure they would run at night but you'd need to check. We got the train back around 6 so don't know about late night transport, sorry.

I wouldn't bother with the Louvre, queues can be long and you need at least half a day to do it justice. It's a lot to pay if you jist want a quick peek at the Mona Lisa!

Thank you for the replies. I think we may give the Louvre a miss as I am worried we will be trying to pack too much in. I quite like the idea of the bus tour to see the sights, so may do that. Not sure whether to go for a day pass or buy single tickets for the train though?

You will need to buy a return ticket on the RER. If you then want to travel around Paris, you need a separate ticket - either single or a day pass.

No, you can get a ticket for the whole day. We did this last week we bought the mobils ticket. I think they were 17Eur each.
Last week the RER in the centre of Paris was closed, so we had to change at Nation. We then took the local metro to Montmartre, Arc de Triomphe, Trocadero (for view of Eiffel Tower) and Notre Dame. We were back in DLP for around 5pm. Id say it takes about an hour from Eiffel Tower to DLP with transfers from metro to RER. It may be faster if RER is operating in centre of Paris. We really enjoyed our day, particularly Montmartre. I wrote about it here bevs97.wordpress/2016/08...disney-dreams/ Edited at 10:50 PM. |
