Universal annual passes and hotel discounts
We are going for 4 weeks in July and have family also coming during our first fortnight and another group coming during the second fortnight. Each group want to do one night at a Universal hotel. We plan on buying DD15 an annual pass for Universal. Will we be able to use this for annual pass holders discount given that she is only 15 or would one of the adults have to have an annual pass ?
Hope this makes sense

I would imagine it would be ok. It's a full price annual pass, so I don't see why not. We used our APs a couple of times last year to get discounted rates (booked online in advance), and they barely glanced at our AP at check-in.
If you are worried, I'd siggest giving them a quick ring to check.

I was told that the Annual Pass had to be in the name of the lead person on the booking. Having said that, on the day we checked in, they didn't even ask to see the Annual Pass!

Why not get the pass in an adults name, as it is not any cheaper for a 15 year old, saying that, anyone can book a room with an AP as long as there are adults staying, who are over 21years old.
It cannot be a Power AP, it has to be a Preferred or Premium AP to get room discounts, but i guess you know this. |

Thanks for this. We were getting the annual pass for my DD as she is planning on visiting Universal with both sets of family over the four week period. Myself and DH will only visit on the odd day

Look at the costs of how it works out and see if its right for you though.
The AP should be in the name of the lead name on the hotel booking. Don't forget that you get other discounts as well eg in the on site restaurants and eateries, in the gift shops and free parking and these all need to be in the name of the person buying or paying. You also can use them for a discount on the cost of park tickets and of course, its one ticket less for you to buy. |

I'm confused now as rpbert1 is saying that you can get the discount with any annual pass as long as there are adults staying

The person who makes the booking does not have to be the AP holder, as long as someone staying in the room has one AP.They will ask to see it ,either at Checkin, or if you have to collect it , just show it later at the front desk
