How to purchase DVC?

We have an amount of money to invest in something! Not a huge amount mind you! How would we go about buying DVC points? How does it work? Any information anyone can give me would be great please...

It's not an investment - think about it as pre paying for your future holidays in nice Disney hotels

I would echo Karen in saying it's not really an investment & you certainly won't make any money from it. I believe that the minimum buy in is now 100 points, used to be 160, so you are looking in the region of approx. £10k - Direct with DVC- & TBH 100 points isn't a lot if you are looking for a 2 week holiday every 2 years. Also bear in mind that you also have Annual dues on a price per point, this is payable every Jan - not great right after Xmas !
Resale you can make better savings cost wise & probably looking in the $70-$90/point region for most resorts & also why I wouldn't class it as an investment as Disney don't buy back so if you decide to sell you are "dropping" $80-$100/point(If you buy Direct).
