My middle son has ASD and we have just had ours renewed to LRM. I only know one person who gets HRM for her little boy with autism, but he also has CP.

we get middle rate for our DS but I think this was awarded for the dyspraxia, heart disease and pronated feet, shortened tendons as opposed to the ASD. We just got his forms for renewal and dreading filling them in tbh. It's not about whether each individual gets what they are entitled to, but more to do with how you fill in the forms, several people have told me I should have appealed but you get so tired of fighting for everything for our kids that you can sometimes get to a point of being a bit exhaused/overwhelmed by it all. I'm not the most articulate of people and filling these things in is a nightmare, as is all the meetings etc.. etc..

Paula our forms are sitting on my bedside table, they don't have to be in till January so I don't know when will be best to fill them in? Thomas has his op in a fortnight and not sure how he is going to be after this, I'm hoping it will help with mobility as surgeon has said it has 80% chance of making a massive difference but I think it's probably best to wait anyway as his needs are going to change. Hate these forms though..

not sure if you have photocopies of your original forms when you last applied but if not then it's worth knowing that the dwp are very happy to supply copies of these if you ring up and ask?

i always photocopy before sending mine off but i couldn't for the life of me locate my James's last set of paperwork so i rang and within days these arrived and just seeing how i "worded things" before really helped

if you're struggling and need your originals back ~ my best advice give them a ring and then use these orginals as a guide, simply add what's new and take away anything that is no longer relevant
