Mine both have TVs in their rooms (4 & 8) but not connected for anything other than DVDs. On a weekend night they get a DVD on in their rooms at bedtime and that's about the only time they are on. I have sky in my room but the only time they watch that is if I they're in when I'm cleaning floors etc downstairs, even then they usually choose to play a game or something instead. Up to parents though no real right or wrong

We have a tv in our bedroom and use it to watch DVD's occasionally if we got to bed early. I have 3 nephews and our friends all have children so about 15 children aged between 3-11 in our 'circle of friends' and not one of them has tv in their bedrooms.
Me and my sister were allowed tv's in our bedrooms when we went into senior school, I struggle to think of any reason why a child much younger would need their own tv in a separate room but obviously different things work for different people so each to their own |

DS was 14 before he had one, I thought that was a bit young but agreed.
In my opinion there isn't a need for them to have one at all. We've always had a second tv in another room which they've had access to.
