Help choosing pre-paid currency card

Hi,

I'm currently looking through all the options of how to take our spending money and am leaning towards the cards. This then opens up a wealth of options so was hoping my fellow Dibbers could help me choose.

We're not going til August so the actual exchange rate isn't really a factor at the moment. What I'm looking for is the most useful (or easy to use) and cheapest card available to put the bulk of our spends on.

Also any pros and cons on using this method as opposed to something else?

Thanks a bundle

Darren

We use the fairfax fx card, it's easy online to apply and you can withdraw ATM with no fee. Also can get text or go online to check balance. We got ours through a link so the card was free. Go on Martins Moneysaving Tips for the link.

I've gone for a Travelex one from Sainsburys, simply because it was the easiest one for me to get hold of!

Fairfx

We also used this card on our trip in 2009. My husband and my self got one each and loaded money on both incase we went our separate way for the day. Great way to keep your money safe. Will be using it again this year. you can also load more from there site if I remember right.

I've just started putting the odd £50 quid on a FairFX card. If you follow the ad link on the DIBB boards it lets you get one for free.

I'll be doing 3 eventually- one for me, one for him and one to use as a security deposit for the hire car (we dont have a credit card and dont want to still be paying for this holiday after we come back!)

Make sure you check the balance weekly, as they let someone take all money off my card, as it was only to be used in florida, and never left the house, I never checked it, when I found out they said tough you have to challenge in 60 days or bad luck.
