Universal Fast Pass & HHN

Good evening,

5 of us (adults) will be heading to Universal for 1 day. We're hoping to do both parks and HHN. And now for my questions:

* Are you able to purchase a Fast Pass for HHN once there, or do they limit the amount available? Do they sell out before the date?

* How much of the queue do you cut during HHN? Some of the houses at last years were HHN were well over an hour. However, this was on opening night.

* I've never bought a Fast Pass for Universal Studios / IOA either but as I usually travel out of season we have never found a reason to purchase them. We'll be there on Oct 11th 2012. Would anyone really advise purchasing them?

Many thanks,

CC

We went three years ago last week in September and first two weeks in October. I don't recall ever having to queue more than half an hour in any of the Universal parks (Or Seaworld & Busch Gardens for that matter) For that very reason we are going again for 3 weeks in a fortnight, for exactly that reason, so don't think fast passes aren't needed. What I found alarming was the length of the queueing system for a lot of the rides, and used to think if they're made this long, they must need them

We also did HHN 19 and some of the queues were quite long, didn't get fast passes but still managed all the houses in 1 night, though didnt see the shows or do many rides. This year we have opted for the Frequent Fear pass for £52 and will attend a few nights and do things at out leisure and maybe not even stop til the very end, think that option may hinge on how many different things you have planned for the nights

We purchased these tickets last year to allow fast passes in both parks but this was early August and peak season.

I have been a few times in September, October and November and queues were never that excessive. (10 to 20 min waits max)

If the parks are busy these passes are a great buy but are a little on the expensive side.
