Virgin Atlantic/Holidays - 2011 Query
Hi all
We are hoping to get our trip for next summer planned ASAP. Its a big family trip for my Mum's 60th and we don't want to miss out on getting our flights booked! Virgin Holidays are advertising 2011 trips already - but Virgin Altantic aren't booking flights yet (and I understand they won't until September this year - we're going in August 2011). So how can Virgin book a 2011 holiday when the flights aren't released? Do holidays customers get something special and can book their flights (holiday) before the 11-month rule? Or do Virgin just sort of "wait list" the flights for people who book a holiday? I hope I've made sense - having a tiring day with my 10-month old! Julie xxx |

Hi, made sense to me
We have been having the same trouble, going in a massive group in august 2011. We have rang around everyone and the most helpful were completeorlando. We rang them and spoke to a lovely lady who had put us on a list. She took all our details and said as soon as the flights are released she would book us on them and then depending on which flights are cheapest she will ring us and we can either cancel or confirm. Very lovely lady named ronan. Hope this helps |

It's odd isn't it. You can book holidays and fly drives now but you can't book flights until 11 months before. I don't really get it!

VH gets a certain number of seats on each VA plane to MCO.
Just as certain TA are able to sell you a flight more than 11 months out. With the TA, the price you are given is an estimate of the release price. It isn't set in stone and could go up or down. Presumable VA/VH have a similar pricing arrangement, the difference being that your price is set. |

Thanks everyone - this is really helpful. We already have our accommodation booked bellavida-villa/ so just need flights and car-hire. We are soooooo excited!
I am hoping the flight prices are reasonable - ish! As on first look for a package holiday, it looked very expensive! Julie xxx |
