First time using a travel cash card!
Hi,
This year is the first time we are using pre-paid travel cards. We're staying at Royal Pacific at Universal and most of our time we will be within Universal and Citywalk. My question is, does anyone know if there are plenty of ATM machines around the areas above. Would hate to be left with no cash in my pockets if I run dry and need to withdraw some more! Thanks in advance! |

The best way to use it is to pay for things with it, if you withdraw cash there will be a fee from the card provider.

If you withdraw cash they charge you a % so take a large sum that you can keep in the safe and just take out what you may need each day.
You only need cash for small things really as you can use the card for purchases etc. When we had one we only used cash for things that were a couple of $ everything else we paid on card. |

We used our Fairfx card no problems. Withdrew cash from a machine near Simpsons in US, no problem, but also never noticed if it charged. We withdraw a large amount and put it in hotel safe, easier that way

If you're able to download apps on to your mobile phone or ipod or something, look to getting an app called Allpoint. Someone else on the Dibb boards suggested it and it is great! You put in the details of where you are and it will tell you where the closest ATMs are, the sweet part is it tells you the ATMs that don't charge you for using them! Bonus!
Hope that helps some. Failing that someone at the hotel can give you a heads up on where to find ATMs.
