Flight fright

Can anyone help?
Am going in Nov, cant wait!
BUT brother in law is terrified of flying and we have convinced him to come. Has anyone got any tips that fellow suffers have used?
We are flying with Virgin so the overall experience should be ok (hopefully!) but would be good to help him...

Hi

I would tell Virgin he is a nervous flyer, I would also go to the docs and get somthing to just calm him down not knock him out.

I hate flying but I don't yet need meds for it, I do try to keep busy I got 2 dds that keep my mind off the fact we are up in the air.

Books, music and films and food just things to take his mind off it.

I am also terrified ! When we went last year I didn't realise that you could get meds from the docs so I really suffered (also had a horrendous flight but that is totally different thread lol). I used bachs rescue remedy which usually does work for me for other things, but I dont think it had an effect when we flew. It may be worth a try for your BIL alot of people swear by it. I hope he is ok !

How nervous is he? Virgin run a Flying without Fear course that he might be interested in...

Alternatively, there's the book which is a cheaper option. I've got the book and I think it's pretty good - answers a lot of questions, so if he's the kind of person who likes information to allay his fears then this might be good...

I'm a very nervous flyer and I have to be in a window seat... it makes me worse if i can't see outside, especially when there is turbulence.

Sure another dibber posted recently about having hypnotherapy for her fear of flying & recommended it. Sure she'd be able to advise. For the life of me can't remember her dibb sign on..

Better go and get my first cup of coffee to get my brain working!
