Help needed with seating on virgin

My son (20 ) requires bulk held which has been requested but you only no on day if you have got it with one other person sitting next to him. Our problem is we are a family of 5 so 3 will seat else where but it's my daughters 18th so we would like to sit as near to him as we can eg behind or don't mind paying for extra legroom . Virgin cant tell me where they are putting him so we don't know what to do on the 90 day seating planner as they have said he could be in first row of bulk or 2nd or 3rd which doesn't help us at all . They are saying just turn up early on the day or just book seats on 90 day to get something x need help as I can't book seats not knowing where he is :angry:
