On all our previous trips we have went with Direct Line... DH had a back operation in 2007 so our premium for our hol in 2008 was quite high and our DS has special needs too

Insure and Go came up at the most reasonable for us, just over £130 for my family of 4, 2 ads 2ch for 2 weeks, 1ad and 1ch with the same spinal condition, with the adult (me) having had surgery and on a ton of meds.
Columbus also came up with a good quote, but I wasn't ready to buy it at that time and when I went back the price had gone up considerably. Hope this is of some help

I know how that feels I had lots of refusals last year I finally got cover with Columbus at a decent premium, not had to claim so can't vouch for them in that regard but the cover seems OK. I think you just need to keep shopping around. I went through most of the recommendations in the sticky thread. It's the one bit of planning a trip I really dread.

I have been with Columbus the last couple of years too and they declined me as well. Do you need the insurance right now or could you get it in 6 months or so? The reason I ask is that when I was answering the medical questions it seemed to make a difference if I had been in hispital in the last 6 months once you can answer "no" it may make it go down a bit, worth a try anyway.

Allclear is what I used and I have numerous severe health problems. Most wouldn't touch me and a couple were over £2,000. Im 36. Try them.

I have the same trouble (I'm 27) most companies completely refuse to insure with covering my medical conditions or same give me quotes for £1000-2000+
This year I came across Allclear who would insure me for £150 or a couple of years ago I managed to get an Annual policy with Insurance choice for £90 |
