Thomson 787 entertainment
We'll be flying with Thomson for the first time next month and were wondering whether it's worth taking our own headphones or if anyone that's flown with them could tell us if the ones they'll provide are any good?
We flew with Virgin last time and their's were a bit patchy if you moved too much. Cheers. |

On the one I flew with two weeks ago - the earphones were ok but not very comfortable, I was annoyed as it was a two prong headphone input so I could not put my nicer headphones in. I wish I had bought an adaptor at the airport.

We used our own headphones on the outward flight with no problems. Don't like using the airline ones. Must admit I was worried when I saw it was 2 prongs for the headphone, but they worked fine in the right slot.

dreamliner doesnt need them, it detects youve only got one plugged in and plays it in stereo out of the single socket.
in economy you get free "disposable" headphones - you need to keep them with you to use on the flight home. personally, i wouldnt let them things anywhere near my ears, they are worse than your average phone-bundled earplugs. if you're after a new set of buds, you could do a lot worse than these mrice e300 ones: amazon/gp/product/B...&tag=amzn21-21 bought a set last year, and they easily rival £30-40 sennheiser cx buds. in fact, they arent far off my £70 shure buds for audio quality |

TBH I rarely bother with IFE. Just load up the iPad and enjoy my own preferences.
