Hi, have just returned from sunny Spain and all the local newspapers are full of articles about the planned Disneyland which is to be built next to the new international airport at Murcia with a scheduled opening of 2012(though Spanish worktime may mean more like 2022). Have any other Dibbers come across this information or is it just rumour?

Not in Murcia but in Manilva - south of Estepona. See an old news article here. There's conflicting reports, Disney deny its a themepark, saying its a vacation resort, others say its Europes first ecological theme park. Who knows? The bottom line is Disney has bought a big parcel of land so something interesting is planned.

Its just one of the rumours of the type that are around loads of areas of southern USA. The land purchase in spain has not been confirmed so all we can do is wait and see!
I find it hard to believe that if this did happen, it would 'replace Paris' - why would Disney invest all the extra money recently in to DLP (particularly Disney Studios), only to replace it with another park completely? Sounds a bit odd to me.
