California dreaming, screaming and still beaming :) Day 7
30/07/08
Did some laundry this morning before the others woke and had a quick brekkie - getting fed up now as it's all the same and fed up of gangs of softball players too! We sat down for a bit to sort out our route and ended up watching a film forgetting that we had the do not disturb sign on the door. . On our way out we noticed that housekeeping had put a note through the door saying that we'd missed them and to request they again if we wanted the room sorting out. We just got a few clean towels instead. We decided to head off to Bass Lake. The plan had been to go back to Yosemite but the weather reports were saying that the smoke in the park was going to get worse as the wind direction changed. Bass Lake was lovely! We found a little shop that made huge sandwiches and had a picnic on the water's edge. We were tempted to hire a boat - but there was a waiting list and they had to be hired for a minimum of 2 hours. Some of the houses in this area were beautiful - most had their own docks. It was another straight road drive back to Fresno - but we came across this: In the evening we went to Applebees for a meal and we were disappointed. Our main courses were broght in as we were still eqating our appetiser and DSs mash was cold and DDs Coleslaw was frozen! They just microwaved the palte with the mash which meant his medium steak was now very well done! We went to a place called Boomers to play crazy golf, go carting and arcade games. It was ok and a good way to pass an hour. Went back to hotel to pack bags - Monterey tomorrow.

More lovely photos. The meal doesn't sound nice at all though.
