I sent an email to FairFX over the weekend asking them a silly question regarding topping up my card. They responded this morning with a really detailed yet simple and personal reply. I am well impressed with their service and response to my enquiry.
Only sharing this as I am as quick as anyone to have a moan but its nice to share the good as well.
Currently at 1.47 for the dollars on the card.

Reason: added rate.
I had to e-mail them as well about something trivial and they replied immediately with a really friendly e-mail. The card was great on holiday too so I was well impressed with their service. Will be using it again this year!!!

We have had currency and the top up card from FairFX and have been very impressed with them, good quick service and I also got a personal call when we bought currency updating me as to where our order was up to etc.

Order the card now and top it up with the minnimum. Then watch there site to see if the rate goes up. If and hopefully when it does top up on line. That means you wont have to wait for your card and pin if your watching the rate to the last minute
Can someone give me the website for this company. we normally take TCs and cash but a lot of people say this is a better idea so I would like to take a look.
Thanks

Thats what I am doing. Got the card with the minimum on and when the rate reaches 1.50 I put some on - if I can afford it at the time! In fact, as I save in a savings account online without a debit card, that is what my question to them was about. I wanted a stupid persons(!) guide to how to transfer money to them via online banking! This saves me topping up from my current account (which I can ill afford) and then transferring from my savings. When the rate is right, I will top up via online banking now, direct from my savings!
cant fault them on replying , when i brought holiday cash from them made a mistake about payment choice , emailed them to sort it out and they phoned me within the hour and the bloke was very helpful, since then have got fairfx card too.
Its 1.48 so its creeping up and there are alot of people waiting for it to hit 1.5
I am one of those people, cant wait for it to hit the magic $1.50 and hopefully a little higher, I have been watching it like a hawk all day and I have been tempted earlier to buy some dollars, but I will hang on in there yet and see if it creeps up a little more and then I will join the rush to top up my fairfx card.

I'm a 1.50 watcher too !
I had to email Fairfx the other day, they replied with a nice, easy to understand email. Then my daughter had a query opening a card, and I emailed them again and enclosed my mobile no. A very nice young chap called me back and sorted out the card.
Highly recommended!!!
You only get charged for withdrawls through ATM,a $ 2 charge applies, plus any charge the ATM owner applies,no charge is made for purchases made with the card,or for reloading the card, full details are on the website www.fairfx.com
