Biergarten or Bust! Day 13 - part 3!

Well, I can't put this off any longer. I'll need to post the next update.
I think I might be able to drag out another 2 updates though - I have the return journey to do!

So where were we? Killing time waiting for our 8.50pm ADR at Chef Mickey's.

Before we went to Chef Mickey's we went for one last ride on BTMRR, can't remember if we used a FP or if it was quiet, but it wasn't too long a wait. The CMs were obviously just beginning to close things up and were cutting back to using the one track/train, as after our train pulled back into the station, they said to all of us "If you want to ride again - just stay on!" One guy made as if to get off the train, but everyone shouted "No!" and his wife pulled him back into the train!

Off we went for another ride! BTMRR is just fantastic at night, it's a totally different experience. The castle was lovely all lit up, and ooh, just fantastic!

So that was an extra special unexpected bit of Disney magic for us on our last night!

I have to say I did feel a bit guilty as there was still a queue when the CMs let us stay on and everyone was just gawping at us! Not guilty enough to jump off though!

We walked back through the park, Grumpy taking some photos on the way.

We walked through the turnstiles and turned left to walk along to the Contemporary. It was a quick walk, and only took us about 5 mins tops.

The CR looked very plush, but just not our kind of resort KNWIM? POFQ was a much 'gentler' type of resort. Saying that, I wouldn't turn my nose up at a stay at CR if the price was right!

We checked in and waited about 10-15 mins, then were shown to our table. Chris was our server that night and explained the layout and set us up with drinks. I wasn't going to have a cocktail, but Grumpy talked me into it - not that I needed much persuading!

We were seated in a kind of room up off from the main floor so the characters just kind of appeared!

My boyfriend paid us a visit, so I was videoing it for my personal collection!

I let the kids say hello as well, I'm not a completely obsessed stalker!

Minnie came round when the kids were up at the buffet, so we thought she'd come back, but she didn't!

The food was good, but we felt we'd had better character meals, so I don't think we'd rush back to Chef Mickey's. But to be honest, I think we were feeling so down about having to go home tomorrow we probably wouldn't have properly enjoyed any meal.

We hung about for a while to see if Minnie would come back but she didn't. We settled up with Chris, if we'd paid OOP it would have been $95.81 not incl tip. Chris was asking the kids if they'd had fun meeting all the characters, so the Things said to Chris they hadn't met Minnie. So he said he'd see what he could do.

Minnie came back out just as we were leaving and posed for some photos and signed their books, so they were really delighted!

We spent some time in the gift shop then hopped on the monorail back to the T&TC.

By this time it was after 10 and it was really quiet, MK had closed about an hour before. The tram came after about 5 mins and we hopped on. There was no game of "where's the car?" tonight as ours was the only car left in the car park!

We got back to the hotel and I decided to throw caution to the wind, it was a lovely warm evening so I said we could all go for a swim!

The kids were delighted, Grumpy was surprised, but I didn't really want the day to come to an end!

The pool was quiet but by no means deserted, and we were able to splash about to our hearts content. The sky was lovely and clear and the stars were all out, so we floated about till nearly midnight looking at the stars and smelling the jasmine and magnolia... just beautiful!

I grabbed some hot chocolate from the food court and then we made our way back up the room.

That was it, the last day of our holiday.

We did manage to squeeze some more MK mayhem in the next day... every last second counts!

Next time I plan to finish our trip at Biergarten... alcohol and emotion, ye canna beat it

i am sad too that it is coming to an end... but what a great trip the 4 of you had.
and what a lovley way to spend your last day... a late night swim too!

cant wait to see all the goodies you got for the kitchen..
