West coast trip 2009 - Part 2

It is a fairly long drive to the Yosemite national park, probably about 4 Hrs to get there, pay the $20 admission fee and we tour the park, which is huge, I mean it takes about 2 hours to drive around the place, but some of the views were spectacular.
See sighns for "slow - Bears", DW gets a bit worried as imagines a big brown bear mauling the car, DD is on major lookout for them, she is only 4 and thinks they are all soft and cuddly.

Next we head onto San Francisco, 3.5 Hours and we are there, crossing the bay bridge $4.00 fee and onto out hotel, The comfort Inn (Lombard/Van Ness).
Hotel is fine, not full service but a step up from your travel lodges etc.
Parking is $30 per day, ouch!

We ditch our bags and set off for Fishermans Wharf, a good 25 min walk, wander around a while then decide to have dinner at the rainforest cafe.

This has to one of the best I have visited, 3 floors, lots happening, really good.

After that we head back to the hotel, only the fog has come in and it is freezing, he went out in t-shirts as it was so hot, now we were shivering, nothing else for it, Taxi!

The best $7.00 I have spent so far, time for bed as we have pre booked the Alcatraz tour for 9:00 next morning.

We were in San Fran the same time as you - it was freezing and I had to buy a fleece. Yosemite was the highlight of our trip

I brought my fleece as I had read it could get cold, DW didnt bother and had to buy one.
