West coast trip 2009 - Part 6
Drive from Camarillo to LV takes about 5 hours, get to the Excalibur and check in, do the "$20 dollar trick" and get an upgrade to high floor tower 2 widescreen room. The check in guy made sure he got the money by asking at the end for the "voucher", which was conveniently just on display so that he could see it, he knew the score.
Room is v.nice actually, dropped bags and went down for a beer at Dicks ($6), then had a quick go on the slots. Our camera had broken on the way to LV, dont know how, switched it on and it just wont work, so get in a cab and ask him to take me to the nearest camera shop, which is "Fry's" and is a large electronic shop about 1.5 miles from the hotel. Get the assistant to check the battery just in case, but the camera is finished, typical it is only 4 months old, anyway need a camera for the morning so buy new one, $216 for that, hopefully I will be able to get a refund or account credit from Cdiscount for the camera when I get home as I dont need 2 cameras. Went for a stroll down the strip, had a look at the Miracle mile, and took dinner at Outback steakhouse. Food was excellent service was poor, very slow, tried to give us somebody elses food, then gave us the wrong bill, anyway the tip reflected the level of service. Went to the M & M shop, picked up some candy for DD, and back to the hotel. Went to Dicks for a drink, large beer $10 then played some video poker/21 etc. Cocktail service non existant so back to the room to sleep at 11:30 as we have a helicopter flight in the morning to GC with Papillion. Edited at 05:10 PM. |

What a shame about your camera, hope you managed to get your money back. Gosh it's expensive for a beer isnt it, dearer than Orlando it seems.
