Eating Our Way Around Florida Day 11

Day 11 – Tuesday 22nd June 2010

“Junior” - 18 just finished AS levels, originator of this report but no staying power!
Mum - couldn't wait to get away and doesn't want to go back.
Rob- American Fan! Finishing this report off!

So yesterday was a marathon out of villa at 7.30am back in villa at 10.05pm, all day in Florida sunshine! On reflection we will not do that again.
Today is a recovery day by the pool and then a wander late afternoon before going to dinner.
Temperature gets up to 96 degrees (feels like 107), so nice and hot.

Mum & Rob up at 6.50am this morning so a lie in for Rob and I surface at 8.30am

Breakfast was partaken at the villa; bagels with cream cheese and bacon for Mum & Rob and peanut butter on toast for me (We know what we like, and we like what we know! )
Another perfect start to the day...


So whilst we sun ourselves by the pool we listen to Chris Moyles show streamed over the interweb and what I haven't mentioned so far is we become avid readers on holiday even Rob.
Nia holds the record for books read at 9, this holiday.

Lunch again is simple fresh bread cheese tomatoes and lays crisps barbecue flavour today.

About 3pm we decide to get showered changed and go out. Now we like our villas and have stayed in a number of communities. The view is very important to us as we spend alot of time by the pool. In selecting this year's villa we have trawled many internet sites and decide to have a drive around a few to get the lay of the land for next year. We end up visiting Formosa Gardens (Gate open?), Rolling Hills, went past Sunset Lakes probably our favorite and Emerald Island but couldn't get in!
We had decided to eat at Manny’s Chophouse tonight so wanted to look at a relatively new villa community called Watersong on the way. We again come up against closed gates but asked security guard if we could drive round as a look see, security Okay-ed this after taking our details. This is a great location for us (maybe a stretch if you do parks everyday) and we were pointing at villas we had seen on the Internet right left and center. It was good to get a feel and understand that new villas are still being built so we need to be particularly careful with any choice.

Then on to our new favorite eating place Manny’s.
Again short wait to be seated, but no hassle.
Tonight we all decided to have ribs, so after lovely bread and luscious salad it was into the barbecue ribs. Rob ordered a full rack being the man of the house and it was so big it nearly finished him off before eventually he finished them off!
It was excellent again and very very reasonable.

Blobbed our way back into the car and home, slouched on couch for a couple of hours not able to move.

Lovely relaxing day - glad you enjoyed Manny's - its our favourite restaurant and very close to our house.
I love the boneless pork chops with BBQ sauce - the salad is amazing !
Love the bread rolls too.
