The Woods Wonderful WDW Hol Nov 2010 Day 9

The Woods Wonderful Walt Disney World Holiday November 2010
Day 9

Hello again everyone, today we plan to go to a non-Disney park , Islands of Adventure. I am awake the first as usual at 6.15am and all is quiet once again. We have a hot day forecast, so looking forward to that, as the temperature as crept up for the past couple of days, and this is the weather we had been hoping for.

I struggled to wake the little ones this morning, there still so tired, normally they would sleep 12 hours a night, so getting just 9 to 10 is really making them so tired, especially with all the added activities that an holiday like this brings. Once up and ready we managed to leave at 7.15, as we had a breakfast booking at Olivia’s.

We all went back to our usual, omelettes and pancakes. Whilst eating we decided that our booking for tonight at Captains Grill would be too late for the children and opted to cancel. We asked at the desk here if they would be able to fit us in for dinner, so that it would be easier to get a sleeping Max back to the villa. Not a problem, and booked in right away. We paid our $12.02 (Would be $94) and make our way into the gift shop.

I needed to get a couple of things for the Dibb raffle tomorrow, and once this was done, we popped to Bell services to ask them for a taxi to Islands. Within 5 minutes we were on our way, and before we knew it, we were arriving. I loved City Walk, it was so bright and colourful, and there was so much going on. We wandered through to the left towards the entrance, and passed through with no problems.

We went straight towards Hulk, where I waited with the little ones whilst Nick rode with the older two. 5 minutes later they were back, and asked me if I wanted to ride, but passed and said I would do it later.

Next we went towards the Super Hero area, and the children went into the police car for a little play, my gosh! I couldn’t believe just how bright and big everything was, big thumbs up Universal, this is excellent. Next we were all going to go on Spiderman, but Max threw a hissy fit, so Nick waited whilst the rest of us rode. What a fantastic ride, absolutely marvellous. When we got off, I told Nick not to miss out, and the older ones rode again with him. Whilst we waited the little ones had their photo done like Shrek babies, and like a fool purchased it. It is horrid, really i don’t like it, they look so weird.

We then continued into Toon lagoon, where we wandered in and out of shops, and just looked at many a thing. We passed on the water rides as it was still a little chilly for it. Nick, decided that after trying on Marks hat (Silva’s DH’s) he wanted on, and got himself a panama jack one, I know he still looks a fool, but it stopped him burning his head the rest of the holiday.

From there, we passed into Jurassic Park, Wow Wow Wow, I have always loved these films and so loved all of this area. Me and Charlotte rode the pterodactyl flyers, however, she got scared and we left the queue three times before she actually did ride, and guess what, she wanted to go straight back on…lol After this the children all played in the caves for a while, before moving on.

Nick, Beth and Brandan went Jurassic park the ride, whist Max, Charlotte and I enjoyed some Churro’s, yum yum. The others had some after riding and cost a total of $15.30. For a while after this we looked around the rest of the area before going into Harry Potter World.

Nick took the older too onto the Forbidden Journey, and I waited with the little ones. Oh my, it had got hot, and we had nowhere to sit. Max and Charlotte sat in a hole in the wall, which they thought was fun for a while, until we moved to find the bathroom.

On route Max posed for photos with these chums, and by the time we had fought our way back to where we were, Nick and the others were approaching, good timing if you ask me. I told Nick that I had just passed Olivanders, and the queue was huge, so he decided to get his wand from the ride exit.

We were going to do flight of the hippogriff, but it was showing 50 minutes and the little ones had just waited around for 45 minutes, so we passed up on it. However, as duelling dragons was only a 10 minute wait, Nick took the older ones on it whilst, you guessed it, we sat and waited again. However, this time Max and Charlotte both posed for photos with Hogwarts Express.

It was not long before we were altogether again. Charlotte wanted to go into the sweet shop, and Nick went off to buy Butterbeer. He chose the frozen one, it was quite nice, better than I expected.

We said our goodbyes to Harry Potter World and passed right through the lost continent, only stopping for the bathroom, and went straight into Seuss landing. We stopped for a snack of cookies and pretzels and drinks, costing $19.09. Really didn’t like paying for snacks knowing we had over 140 with Disney left…lol

We then ALL yes all of us, Max decided to take in some rides, the Trolley ride, and everyone enjoyed. From there we all went on the Carousel, and then red fish, blue fish, where Max thought it would be fun to get me soaked. We all then rode the Cat in the Hat, before moving out of Seuss land.

We were all peckish again and had another snack this time in form of Cinnabon and drinks, and yes I could feel the waist band expanding by the minute. ($18.09)

Next I got to do a ride, and as I had promised Beth I rode Hulk with her. My god, it was fast out of the tunnel, but all the same a fab ride, and very long in comparison with British rollercoasters.

From here all but Max and I went on Storm Force Acceleration, and then onto Dr Doom Fear fall.

When Nick and Beth went off to ride it, Max ran after him and fell down a curb, grazing his leg, no blood I will point out. Well I was settling him down when I women who I later found out was Rouge, came over to check on him. Over kill or what, she got on her radio and got first aiders to come right away. Really it was not necessary, and was only a graze. Well there was ointment, wipes plasters, and forms to fill in, talk about over kill, but all the same, Thanks Universal for a great service, and no, I am not suing, I am just British.

So from here I told them children they could do some water rides and we went straight to Popeye. Nick and Max didn’t ride, and yes we were soaked. Next was Ripsaw falls and this time me and Charlotte sat out and dried off, and yes they were all soaked too.

From here, we decided to call it a day, and as we were walking towards the exit, posed from photos here. On the way through City Walk Nick purchased a new Wallet from Fossil, and we then got our taxi back to OKW.

Once back and in DRY clothes we took a leisurely walk to Olivia’s for dinner.

We were shown to our table right away and our server was Kenny. We explained that Beth and Brandan didn’t want to order starters but where pressured to, which I didn’t like, he couldn’t understand me very well when I said they didn’t like anything on the menu. To shut him up, they did order and wasted it all, which were Shrimp.

Nick had BBQ Ribs, and I had crab cakes.
Max was asleep as usual before we placed our order, so this time we didn’t waste a credit.
For mains we had, Nick- 10oz Prime rib, which he ordered rare… is this rare enough for you, and he ate it…errr.

I also had steak, Beth and Brandan pork chop and Charlotte had a burger.

During our meal, there was an announcement, and we were awarded family of the day, which was lovely, Charlotte thought it was brilliant that we had got the balloons, and was over the moon.

We were so stuffed we passed again on pudding, and paid our $30.56, which would have been $211.
We made our way back to our villa, and everyone was sleeping by 9.30pm.

Total spends today $398.60.

Thank you for reading along.
