The Woods Wonderful WDW Hol Nov 2010 Day 12

The Woods Wonderful Walt Disney World Holiday November 2010
Day 12

Hello everyone today we are planning to go to Universal Studios. I woke at 6.10am, got myself ready, sorted the laundry and then got everyone’s stuff ready before I woke them. Weather this morning Is looking better than it has so far and is showing 58 degrees, and is forecast to be 82 today, so very happy with that.

We eventually left the villa at 7.15, and caught the bus up to hospitality house for our breakfast at Olivia’s. Our server today was Jerry once again, and knows our faces, which is quite nice. Ordered this morning was Olivia’s breakfast for Nick and I, pancakes for everyone else. All very nice we paid our $11.84 would be $81.90, and made our way to bell services for a taxi to Universal.

We arrived at 8.45 and went off to meet Jonathan(Froggy88). We did the obligatory photos at the famous globe before making our way inside.

First stop was Shrek 4D, and Max screamed that he was too scared, so Nick sat outside with him. Oh my, it was fantastic, so well done; you sure did miss out Nick. We did say if he wanted to go on later then we would come back.

Next we went towards Rip Ride and Rocket, and Nick, Beth and Jonathan all rode together. However Jonathan was a little unsure but did in the end. I, Brandan and the little ones sat on the fake grass and enjoyed the sunshine, we are all a little tired today from yesterday’s late night, so the rest was enjoyable. They were back to us soon after, and all enjoyed the ride.

Next we back tracked and went on Jimmy Newtron, which was also very good, not knowing what to expect we were all very surprised how good it was. Afterwards we posed for photos with spongebob.

Twister came next, and we all rode apart from Nick and the little ones. Jonathan said it is isn’t very good and I agreed with him, and also my hair was all over the place when I came out.

We then went on The Mummy, and this time it was my turn to sit with the little ones. We heard the Blues Brothers approaching so we moved to the corner to listen, but Charlotte said it was too loud and was crying to move, she said it was hurting her ears. We did and went back towards The Mummy, Well you should have seen them both. The big giant Mummy figure came right up to them, and held his hand out to Max, Well hey both started screaming. He really wouldn’t go, and tried aimlessly to get them to pose for the photo but there was no chance. We just stood back watching him creep up on people making them jump which was quite funny to watch.

When the others were off the Mummy we went towards Disaster, where I waited again with the little ones. They were an hour and we were very hot in the sun, we just wanted a bit of shade so moved across the road to get some.

We were all a little peckish, and wanted an ice cream so in amity we got Ben and Jerrys for everyone apart from Nick who had a Bud lite. Total cost $30.50. Jonathan had a Turkey leg which was huge, and the smell was quite strong.

After we were all done, and Max had a change of his top we decided on Jaws, and WE all went on. Well Max and Charlotte was so scared, I even jumped out of my skin, sorry kids.

From here we went on towards the Simpsons. Well Max was not keen at all and we tricked him into going on, and glad we did because it was purely fantastic.

From here we went towards MIB, and I waited again with the little ones. I was a little disappointed in this area as everywhere I looked was smoking area, and it stunk of it to be honest, we went back and forth in and out of the shop, and had a frozen drink whilst waiting. Everyone appeared to enjoy this ride, so all happy.

I told Nick, the little ones needed some rides to do, so we went to Fievals playland, and they played in the playground for about half hour and went on Woodywood pecker. They seemed happy now they had been on a few things.

However we were all tired, so we decided that we would do ET, and then call it a day. Oh, how I Loved it, as this was a childhood favourite of mine.

From here we said our goodbyes to Jonathan, it was lovely to spend the day with him, and hopefully he enjoyed it too. We got a taxi back to OKW, where we all had around an hours sleep, we were so tired, in fact so tired I set the alarm for 6.30. No one was bothered about going out, and really could have done with just staying in, but we got ready to go to DTD as we had a ADR for Planet Hollywood.

We got the bus, and had quite a long walk as we stupidly got off at Marketplace instead of Pleasure Island, oh well. It was so busy and we didn’t realise until afterward that is was Saturday, and explained the crowds. Once we reached Planet Hollywood, we waited a little while for our table outside, and then inside waited again. We were seated just by the steps, and boy was it noisy. In fact you couldn’t have a conversation it was so loud. Surprisingly Max was asleep within 5 minutes.

Our server was Mariya, and she took our drinks orders, cokes all rounds apart from Nick and I who had a Pina Colada and a beer.

We ordered starters of World Famous Chicken Crunch - Tender strips of chicken breast with a crunchy sweet coating served with Creole mustard. Texas Tostadas - Crispy mini tortillas topped with barbeque chicken, sautèed onions, Monterey Jack and sharp cheddar cheeses with sour cream and pico de gallo.

Potato Skins - Crispy skins filled with bacon, mozzarella and Monterey Jack cheeses. Served with sour cream, they all were very nice, and very filling.

Next our Entrees arrived hardly giving 2 minutes between courses. We had Mushroom Onion and Swiss Burger - Sauteed fresh mushrooms and onion layered on top of our classic Angus burger complete with Swiss cheese. Nick thought this was quite nice, and would order again.

BBQ Bacon Cheddar Burger - Our classic Angus burger finished with hickory smoked bacon, tangy sweet barbeque sauce and sharp cheddar cheese, was Beth's choice, and also enjoyed.

Classic Cheeseburger - USDA choice Angus with your favorite cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle on our baked sesame bun, was for Brandan, who said it was very tasty.

BBQ Pulled Pork - Tender smoked pork in our own tangy sweet barbeque sauce served on a homestyle bun. I had been waiting to order one of these and it didnt disapoint.

Kids Meatballs, for Charlotte, which was huge, she hardly made a dent in it.

and kids pizza, for Max which was wasted as he was asleep.

We passed on dessert as we were full and tired, and paid our $42.66 which would have been $164.42 out of pocket. We went towards the boat as it was the closest, and eventually were all in bed for 10.30.

Total spent today was $170.99

Thank you for reading along

Aww thank you, the Mummy man was very scary indeed, he made me laugh when he tapped a young girl on the shoulder, she turned around and screamed and ran off

Things are very strained, but getting through day by day, Nick's meds need changing as he is reacting badly to the increased dose.
Hope you are well xx
