Our first family road trip- Day 7

Day 6

Day 7, Las Vegas, Thursday 2nd September 2010

This morning was a more leisurely start as the long days were catching up with us. We watched a bit of TV and didn’t leave the room until 10.30. We wandered through Excalibur where Bry, Molly and I grabbed a Mcdonalds breakfast and Sam had a pizza from pizza hut (only in America lol). We caught the bus up to the far end of the strip and made our way back down as we seriously had no energy for lots of walking today and the kids where getting a little fed up with the heat. There isn’t a great deal more to say than what the photo’s show.

We headed back to the room late afternoon as the kids wanted to check out the pool although in the end decided after going and having a look that we would just chill in the room with a beer (adults only) and watch a bit of TV. We headed back out once it was cooler as we had spotted an Outback steakhouse earlier in the day and decided that would be tonight’s dinner choice. I also wanted to go to the Bellagio fountains once it was dark and the Mirage Volcano.







You have to get in the lift as Outback is on the second floor and overlooks the Mirage and Bry eventually got the ribs he had been hankering over.



None of us wanted to walk to Bellagio or the Mirage as we had eaten far too much lol. We decided that as we definitely wanted to return to Vegas at some point in the future that was a good enough vindication to turn in reasonably early for the night. Tomorrow we had an early start as we head off to the Hoover Dam and then onto the Grand Canyon.

Thanks for the comments. We have just got back from our trip to the Smoky Mountains so I will get the rest of this one typed up this week before I start on that one!
