Chazy & Ben Go West 27/9/12 Walt Disney Family Museum

We were up around 6.30 and down for breakfast around 7.30.

I had Granola with fruit&yoghurt and apple juice.#

Ben had coffee and the full American. (Shame about the cold toast!)

I picked up the map that came with my AA travel guide not realising quite how useful it would be! We took bus#number 3 from Sutter&stockton to presidio about half 8. Got dropped off at Presidio entrance and we walked down presidio boulevard through some pretty freaky trees.#You couldn't see the trees for the fog!#

We arrived at the Presidio transit centre about half 9. The museum opens at 10am so we got a hot chocolate and iced tea to sit down and wait to walk over to the museum it was $4.75 and then I left a $1 tip.

We got into the museum just after 10am.

I spent an hour lol in the shop before even having been in the museum.

I spent $71.55 on a Minnie purse, luggage tag, keyring, magnet, notebook and pen :-) The museum was fascinating! I saw The 1960 Olympic torch which I never knew was designed by a Disney artist called John Hench. After 1.5 hours in the actual museum we went back into the shop and spent Another $145.01 on 2 tshirts, 1 keyring, 1 patch, 2 dolls & 2 pins!

3.5 hours later out at 1:30#we took the presidio go crissy fields to golden gate bridge. It was cold and too foggy so we popped in the shop, got a couple of bits then took the 28 to fort mason, the 30 then 47 to pier 39.

For a late lunch we had a hotdog which came to $8. We took the F line to market/castro back to the union square area. When we got back to the hotel we worked out how to turn the air con off and found out wifi is free! Had to buy a scarf from h&m as it was too cold! We were going to eat at Cheesecake factory but it had a 1.5hr wait. We decided to go back to Pier 39 so took the F line from outside sports basement to fishermans wharf. We decided on Bubba gumps which had a half hour wait. Ben had shrimpers heaven & a beer, I had chicken with mash & corn on the cob.#

I tried my first battered shrimp. One beer (23oz), coke, shrimpers heaven & chicken was $63 inc tip. We caught the F line back and got to bed about 11.

What a fantastic day - love those sparkly shoes and you got some nifty purchases and you saw seals at Pier39 - fab. Sorry its so cold - it looks it in those early morning pics. 1.5hr wait for CF - too much - maybe Sunday brunch there tomorrow morning ? The Sunday menu is scrummy.
Super pics, look forward to more

Great day, you definitely seem to have got your head around the public transport This worries me a little as we so not public transport kinda people, take the car everywhere Guess I'll need to do some swotting up on this before we go next May.
Disney museum looks fab, got yourself a nice stash of souvenirs. Can't wait to see Pier39 and the sealions, at least the sun came out for you there.
Keep having fun
