Coasts, Canyons and Deserts 2013, Day Five- DCA, RRSR and WOC

Coasts Canyons and Deserts August 2013
Day Five- DCA, RRSR and WOC! Tues

As you can see today was the day of abbreviations!

We had a wonderful nights sleep, no issues from the strange hum from the corridor. So it was an early morning start and we felt like we were staying on property with just a 10 minute walk to the park in the early morning coolness. There was none of that humidity from Florida and whilst the heat rose in the day it never had that sapping feeling you get after a few hours in the Florida sun.

We knew it was likely after this trip we would not be coming back to the West Coast for a good few years so we wanted to soak it all in and enjoy every minute of our four full days here. So forgive the picture overload but we love the detail here, some pics on the way in;

The plan was to send DS for the R Springs fast pass as there is a queue for that with a man at the end with a board!

DH and I headed over to wait for him at the Mike and Sully ride and Sully was all on his “protected by about five cast members? He was great fun and we had a pic;

and then DS finally arrived back ;

We were the first on the ride even then, 15 minutes after park opening and it was fun ride but nothing extraordinary, bit like Peter Pan without the flying, great themeing;

Sorry about the quality, no queue so was being rushed, by you know who!

We headed over to Paradise Pier area on the way round to Carsland and did California Screamin', which we loved, not sure why no pics of it but others;

We hopped over to Carsland to really have a really good look and take pics;

And yes they are Cone and Tyre HATS !

RSR here we come again!

We hopped over to see Minnie and her Girls, great fun show show, if somewhat long!

You can tell DS loved it!

We met and old friend!

It was time for our wonderful lunch reservation at The Carthay Circle, with priority viewing for WOC. DH and DS ha burgers and said they were delish, DH and I had soup and DS gumbo to start but I din't get there in time!
I had the short rib ravioli and it was wonderful and not too much.
DS and DH had the chololate cake and I had...cheescake I think... lemon pound cake..? soreee.. it looks good though doesn't it!?

This is a wonderful oasis of calm and elegance and we loved it. We rested our feet and I love a clean elegant loo me;

As we came out we caught the Pixar parade, the acrobats were amazing!

Cont (last post for this day, I promise:thanks for keeping with me and I hope you do like all the pics?..)

We quickly rode TOT, my favourite but much the same.

We then headed over to Paradise Pier again where we met another old friend (no TSM here for us, no FP!) and the boys played some silly games;we rode CS again;

We also rode Mater's Junkyard Jamboree and I defy anyone to not giggle and come off smiling. You get thrown around and twisted but it really is just a mild version of twister and spinning teacups; Mater sings a silly song-needless to say DS did not lower himself but DH and I had a great time, felt like silly kids!

We forgot to buy the CD of all the Carsland music and the lovely Natsynoo has done it for us, THANK YOU!

We then headed here for some retail therapy.

I got my Minnie and Donald Chamilla for my Pandora bracelet. I also got a sparkly Mickey stone inset but it didn't fit.

Now DS has a bit of an obsession and watch collection so he had managed to wear an old watch that he couldn't remember how to change the time on... you can guess what this was an excuse for...?

So he bought a new watch too! There is a little Mickey Head at the top, very subtle, sorry about the rotation The dollar swag bag DH bought me in Vegas later.

We then returned to Paradise Pier as it got dark and got hot dogs and settled towards our viewing area for WOC. It was very central and half way back so we sat on the steps. I was a bit disappointed TBH but when it started you can see why it is advisable to be middle/half way back as the view is better and you don't get so wet!

It is hard to describe WOC but the projections are like Fantasmic but you are closer and the water jets into the sky with the colour projected into them, they are amazing but not best captured by my pics. Flames, pyros and the Mickey wheel changing display as well as the music and sound make it spectacular!

There is no story just a celebration of Disney!

I will leave you with the WOC pics as after this very long day (and post) we went straight back to the Sheraton Park and fell into bed!
Good night! xx

We did the Carthay too, but I don't remember either of your mains, as think I would have preferred them and there was no gumbo to start either! I did enjoy it but think I preferred the Wine Country we did last year.

You are so good sorting your pics, I have looked through mine but still have to narrow them down. Looking forward to more x
