Disney to Increase FastPass+ Entitlement and add Park Hopping

In an article on DisneyParks Blog Tom Staggs, Chairman, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts said "As expected, most of our guests think that securing times to ride our attractions is one of the best ways to maximize the fun of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. We’ve heard from a number of guests that they would like the opportunity to add additional FastPass+ entitlements during their visit, in addition to the three they can plan in advance. So, we’re working on providing them with the ability to add and enjoy additional entitlements on the day of their visit.

Once they’ve used the three they’ve booked, we’ll enable them to select another at kiosks in the parks. And once they’ve used the fourth, they can select another, and so on. We also heard that other guests liked the fact that with the FastPass+ service they could use FASTPASS when they park hopped. So we’re working on a service enhancement to add that feature to FastPass+ as well."

I am guessing it's not available yet then & at the moment it is just the 3 Fastpasses. Only asking because I go in 5 days time.

It was all a matter of time. Ok some will miss out on this before it is introduced but Disney had to bring things in slowy to ensure it all works.

I'm really pleased that have done this. It means they listen to their customers and also bring it all in slowly to iron out any issues.

Glad about the park hopping as we quite often do one park early in the day and then go to a different one in the evening. Wonder if it will be in place for July.

This is great news. Would like to think they roll it out before we go but at least it shows that Disney are listening

This all sounds like really positive news

Realistically when are these changes likely to be in place? I just imagine that once Disney make announcements like this they then make the relevant changes fairly soon? Am selfishly hopping they may be in place by October...

Park hopping would be welcomed, if you can only arrange additional fastpasses at kiosks then expect really long queues at them which really negates the time queuing in the standby lines - it may even take longer.

I am sure it will be in place very soon.

But the thing is you might not find it as useful if you book the busy rides. You might find your last pre-booked FP+ time is later in the day. So by the time you have used that last FastPass and go to book another it will be quite late and I am sure all the premium rides will have gone by then. But you still should be able to get something else.
