Disney to test changes to Anna & Elsa Meet and Greet
An article from temporary tourist (spotted by DIBB member disneytrio) is reporting that as of today 23 July, Disney will begin a 3 day test of a new standby line system for entry to Anna and Elsa Meet and Greet at Princess Fairy Tale Hall in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom.
Due to the popularity of the Frozen characters the lines to see Anna and Elsa have been enormous and the line has been encroaching on other areas of Fantasyland which in turn effects the operations of nearby attractions and shops. "At 9:00 AM Cast Members will allow guests to fill the standby line to its capacity, which is the shield just on the outside of the Hall. Once full, the line to Anna and Elsa will be considered closed. Guests who arrive after the line has been filled will be directed to Magic Kingdom Park Support, who will be located on the other side of the Courtyard Carrousel. Each guest will receive a pass with a comeback time on a “first come first serve” basis. The comeback time printed on each ticket will have a 30 minute window in which to return and enter the standby line to see Anna and Elsa. Once a guest has come back to Princess Fairy Tall Hall and enters the line, Disney expects the maximum wait to be approximately 30 minutes." full article here

got to be an improvement on the existing stupidly long lines. Might take the pressure of the stress to get fast pass for it too.

this line in the article was interesting but does seem very low
Fast Passes will still work as usual. (9 FastPass+ Fast Pass reservations per hour – yes it really is that low!) EDIT: This does not include Fast Pass+ reservations. Disney allots 9 Fast Passes per hour per day in the Magic Kingdom park for the Anna and Elsa Meet and Greet. The last para about other ride such as Soaring testing a come back time as well is interesting. If it works will we see a new tier of FP which is SR (Standby return) and only bookable at the line. call me Mrs Cynical, but until this is confirmed by legitimate sources I'm taking this with a definate pinch of salt.
I've come across this blogger (Temp Tourist) before and her entirely inaccurate information on DAS (and subsequent meltdown), and considering this is meant to start today, I'm highly skeptical. Nothing she says in the article actually makes any sense when you read it in detail - her numbers are really skewed and it doesn't seem to make any sense. Just IMO though and we'll wait and see. Di x
