We will be at MK on 1st September. We have Unlimited Disney tickets but will we still need to purchase additional tickets for the event? Park closing time is scheduled as 7pm but the Halloween party starts at 7. If we are there for the day why can't we just stay for the evening party? I'm guessing they don't empty the park at 7 then only re-admit those with Halloween tickets!?

Because the party is a separate ticketed event. They start to rope off areas of the park and you're only allowed into those areas with a wrist band that says you have a party ticket.
So in answer to your question, if you want to stay for the party you need to buy a separate ticket.

The Disney Police will find you and escort you out! Seriously they go through the parks before party starts asking to see wrist bands. I wouldn't go to MK on day of party unless I was staying for it, prob too busy. You wouldn't be able to go on any rides etc, or any character meets and would be trying not to be seen by CMs!

If you aren't wearing a wrist band you will be shown the exit. The later after 7pm it is the firmer they will be until it requires an escort.

If you have a separate ticket you can collect your wristband from 4pm on Main Street. I'm not sure if you can else where but if its like EMH days there will CM's spread throughout the park.
