Chazy & Ben Go Back To The West Coast - LA to San Diego Weds 10th Sept

We both woke about 8am and started to get ready. I grabbed cereals & milk from the shop for breakfast which was $7 for froot loops, frosted flakes & milk. I did some star gazing on my way!
We checked out at half 10 and dragged our (my) heavy suitcases down Hollywood Boulevard to Hollywood&Highland Metro station. The Metro got us to Union Station at 11:30. I was pleased to see the Amtrak station is within Union Station!



We checked our baggage in - both bags were both over weight so we had some rearranging to do. Luckily we'd brought new backpacks at Hot Topic so we used those to add the weight and then checked those in. So we checked in a backpack & our cases and for carry on I had another backpack with my handbag. Ben grabbed a krispy kreme donut (cheesecake!) and some crisps to snack on!

We set off on time at 12:30.

We had lovely views!

The train had wifi so I made the most of making my report. It was nice to sit still for a couple of hours! We arrived on time at 3:15 and waited for our baggage.

We grabbed our compass cards ($17 each) and hopped on a green line mts trolley bound for 12th & imperial to Gaslamp Quarter.
We got to the hotel just after 4, very easy to find and close to the trolley stop!

Lovely room on 10th floor!

We freshened up and headed out about half 6.

We had another Restaurant.com voucher so we went to House Of Blues. We shared the quesadillas to start, Ben had steak and I had half a rack of ribs.


Dessert for me was the chocolate cheesecake and bread&butter pudding for Ben. I had a backyard tea and Ben had a HOB pale ale. Including tip after taking the voucher off it came to $70.67.


We stopped at Stone Tap Room for a drink and headed to bed!
I had a strawberry soda and Ben had an 18th ipa
