Never visited in July before - best time to avoid crowds?

I'm assuming the Disney Parks in first 2 weeks of July require an early start? Otherwise the crowds will be excessive? Only visited in Autumn before (October school holidays) and wondering what the difference in crowds will be!

Cheers

We always go in July as work in a school. You are right - usually try to go early and just stay as long as we feel like. Don't tend to do any park on 4 th( only exception was discovery cove with its limited intake). Do make use of the busy day guides to plan which parks are best for that day!

Go to Magic Kingdom on 3rd July to see the 4th July fierworks show as the do a practice run, but isn't anywhere near as crowded.

On the 4th don't go anywhere near a prk. Stay by the poo, and have a BBQ or something.

You cant really avoid the crowds in July. I went for the first 2 weeks 2 years ago and it was heaving, and don't even get me started on the south American tour groups... never again

DD was working at Epcot last summer and we went to visit her for the week after 4th July.

I was actually amazed how quiet it was compared to what I was expecting. DD said that the 4th week had been manic and it got busy again the week after we left so hopefully you will find the second week better too.

Our main disappointment was that although we did ropedrop so managed quite a few rides our afternoons were washed out. The hotel pool was shut for between 3 and 5 hours every afternoon due to the weather and since it was so hot in the mornings we really fancied a dip in the afternoon!
